Paying for things with Finance - Effects on Credit History?
Hello, I'd like to make a couple of "large" purchases over the next few weeks: a new phone and a pedal bike. If I pay for these using a 12 month (or shorter) finance option, will this act as a mark against me on my credit report? I'm in my mid-20s and thinking ahead to future decisions regarding mortgages and buying a car,…

Can anyone advise me please on how to change an incorrect address on my Experian Credit file which I have accessed through Money Saving Expert. One of The addresses is wrongly spelt and therefore there are two versions of the address linked all the way through and I'm worried it's impacting on my credit score. Any help…

Evidence of how useless credit scores are
I applied for a Barclaycard last week. I was accepted with a credit limit of £10,100. There's a free Experian credit score tab within the mobile phone app - my score was 715 (Poor). As I said - useless.

I vaguely remember having a joint account with this individual as we paid the household bills together. I looked into service a notice of…

Partial settlement on credit file
Hi, I am currently in the process of negotiating full and final settlements for my outstanding debts after 5 years on a DMP. The accounts were defaulted 4 years ago, if I agree a F&F with the creditors will the 'partial settlement' fall off my credit file along with the default in 2 years or will that stay on the account…

Made partial settlement. Should I go back and settle in full?
I have a partial settlement on a credit card account from September 2016. I would now be in a position to settle the rest of the debt. Is there any point in doing it (ie. would it then improve my credit rating?) Thanks in advance

Anonymous search
It's annoying when a company like this: http://tech.eu/features/4365/onfido/ searches your credit file because, basically, you have no idea who they are doing it for. :(

Hello All, I have just had a credit card application refused on the basis my Equifax details didn't match my application details. Not realising I even had an Equifax report (have everything set up with Experian), I rang Equifax to see what the craic was. Apparently, back in 2012, I signed up for a report (30days free…

How to chase up O2 capita when THEIR mistakes have cost my good credit rating?
Spent all yesterday on the phone to o2. I hate them. Ccj
Hello all. To cut a long story short...I ended up with a CCJ for the ridiculous amount of £145 back in Feb 2014 from Parking Eye. Financial Probity Check
Hi - going for an interview soon that, if successful, would mean a Financial Probity Check. Job may involve taking CC payments, cheques, logging bank t/fs but probably very little cash as the invoices people are paying are £thousands. Up to about 8 years back we were in trouble but now are 'reasonably healthy' (I think?)…

1st credit debt collector
Hi all, I just received a letter this morning from 1st credit regarding a payday loan i took out back in Feb 2012. Question is do I even bother contacting them to clear the £230 balance? Looking on my credit file it shows as settled/closed at £0 and due to drop off Feb 2018. What are the likely chances the debt collector…
