Hello all.
To cut a long story short...I ended up with a CCJ for the ridiculous amount of £145 back in Feb 2014 from Parking Eye. I got some of the threats/paperwork but after receiving poor advice from numerous people who I valued their opinions...and a dodgy looking court letter...the CCJ was the result.
I satisfied the CCJ in August 2014 after realising I was screwed and it had hit my credit files.
Now this is the only blip on my credit reports but it has reduced my score somewhat and put me in the fair/poor categories (now I know the score doesn't matter before you all start but the CCJ does).
I haven't applied for any credit up to this point...having 3 credit cards prior to the blip. Obviously the 0% periods are long gone.
Now I ran the eligibility checker and found some decent high street credit cards saying I had 95% chance of acceptance but I thought I would be screwed for the full 6 years. Obviously I don't want to apply and get rejected but has anyone in a similar position been accepted for these type of cards?
Thanks for reading.

Maybe a CCJ doesnt entirely mean your screwed for the 6 years, maybe the amount its for matters.0
-
I know the amount is very small and it's over 3 years old now.
Just 2 years 11 months to go.
I hate Parking Eye with a passion.0 -
Have you had much credit since this? Maybe start of with a credit building card for a bit?0
-
I have had no credit for well over 3 years now
I currently have 3 cards....I use them alternately and pay off the balance in full.
As soon as the CCJ has gone....my reports should be back to normal.0 -
A credit builder card probably would not be appropriate if you already have 3 cards.
If you apply for the card you want and get rejected it's not a big deal. It will only have an effect for a few months. I wouldn't apply for more than one though.0 -
This CCJ has done me in mentally though.
A free car park....overstayed by 10 mins....the world has gone mad.
Fair enough if you don't pay your bills, etc.0 -
I know the feeling. I had a default for £42.
I would not get another credit card if it will get you into more debt however if it makes finacial sense to get one of these cards you are 95% eligble for go for it! Worst that can happen is you get rejected. It's only a single credit search which will have a minimal impact.0 -
Why are you wanting a new card? If its for a deal, you could try to get one through one of your existing cards? Phone one up and say thinking of cancelling as there are cards with BT rates on and see what they offer. Some providers will offer you a deal, it might not be as good as those offered to new customers but it would mean you don't need to apply for a new card.0
