It's annoying when a company like this: http://tech.eu/features/4365/onfido/ searches your credit file because, basically, you have no idea who they are doing it for.

I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

What have you applied for lately ? https://onfido.com/products0

They do background checks.. applied for a new job?0

No....nothing. The background check is the bit that has me concerned. Reading the bumff on their site, they do checks on agency workers who have reason to be in government buildings or the like. Mystery.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

Right, a bit more info. This search only shows on equifax, not experian, and it seems to be an identity check to comply with ML regulations. That doesn't sound so ominous.
It's still a bit off though, when a third party searches on behalf of someone else and you can't figure out who it is, or for what purpose.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0 -

It would be nice to find just why people get these seemingly random checks.

Just noticed lexnexis did one last October for Barclays, also worded 'identity check to comply with ML regulations'. Maybe not as uncommon as I thought.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0
