Credir score gone down
Hi, I applied for a credit card and have stayed well below my limit and paid off in full as soon as I received my first statement and my credit score has gone down. I thought having a credit building credit card would increase my credit score not lower it? Nothing else has changed in terms of finances.

Difficult to set up DD for credit card
Well not really difficult but seems to take an inordinate amount of time. I applied for the HSBC credit card, purely for the £25 on spending £300. Card arrived within 2 days, activated and £300 spent. Now to pay. I always prefer DD just in case I forget, get run over by bus etc. I apparently needed to discuss this with…

John Lewis card - payment timing
I've had my John Lewis card about nine months and don't use it very heavily, so have hardly noticed the details of paying it off every month. However last month I was on holiday and used it frequently. I received the bill yesterday and have to settle it by 5 October. That gives me about 22 days - or less really, since you…

Safty tip
Scratch off the cvv number from your card after recording it somewhere ( your phone perhaps) this stops card not present purchases if you lose the card. Technically speeaking defacing the signature strip invalidates the card but I have NEVER had any problems. I did this to prevent a relative with alzeimers being conned…

Hi, I have a 'suspended' Barclaycard transferred from Egg that I cant use (and is being paid off). My latest statement has details of an interest rate rise as the Bank of England rate has risen. Applying for a credit card when 8 months pregnant
We're looking to do a balance transfer onto a new credit card, but my wife is 8 months pregnant and the card needs to be in her name. When filling in the forms, it doesn't give any options for pending changes in circumstances, so she is answering the questions honestly. But I'm sure there is a fine line about fraudulent…

Limit Transfer?
I know that if you have got 2 credit cards from the same bank, you can transfer the 90% of the available limit from one to another and cut the first. Does it work within the same banking group, by any chance? The question is due to the fact that it appears I can see my Bank of Scotland accounts in Halifax online banking.

When bogus applications are made
Hi. In the last few months I've received two notifcations (Grattan and Studio24) informing me of decisions to reject applications. In the first instance, I ended up talking to Experian and some other similar firm about the fact that someone other than me had made the application. The later incident, the retailer has noted…

Apple Finance Barclays & Paypal
I'm not sure credit cards is the right forum for this, or if it's a loan? Since the PayPal Credit seems to act like a credit card? Anyway, my question was, has anyone used either of these two things before, and can say whether you'd recommend it? Also, how hard was it to be accepted? I've got a decent credit score, but I'm…

What does a hard pull look like on your credit report?
I'm looking at my credit report on Noddle and I have a bunch of searches, mostly from companies I've never heard of and as far as I know I don't have any relationship with them. My latest one was from Capital One because I applied for a credit card with them. Are all of these search hard pulls? Most are listed as General…
