Making a credit card payment on someone else's behalf
Hi, Is it possible to make a credit card payment on someone else's behalf? I am currently stuck abroad and won't be able to make a payment before the due date. I was thinking of asking a friend to make the payment on my behalf. Thanks,

Hello, I completed an IVA in 2009, all gone from my file. I've had credit since and managing it perfectly with 12 months left on a 0% deal. I'd like to balance transfer next year, although I always look at what cards I can have now that have long 0% deals, after I get my credit reports each month. MBNA were a creditor in…

Paying off each month, but what balance
Stupid question alert!!!.... I've reached my mid forties and never had a credit card, for no reason other than through choice. I've only every used my debit card. I don't have any debts, but felt I should get a credit card as they carry some handy benefits (especially around online purchase protection). So I applied for,…

Credit card fraud, catching the criminal
Hello, Anyone else had this? Contacted my credit card company fraud debt as saw an unauthorised flight purchase transaction with a well known travel company, for just under £2k! As well as politely accepting that my card company would "investigate" but also wondering if they actually would, I called the travel company…

Hi Everybody! I obtained a Halifax Clarity Credit Card due to the 'we will give you £20 credit after your first bill' offer. I had to ask them why my 20 quid hadn't been credited and the lady told me that I had to spend 'in foreign currency' before I got the credit. Well, Ive already been on my hols and I now need to use…

Fraud credit card in default and Captial One will not help
Hey all I know it seems all my posts are credit file related, forgive me :D So between 2009 and 2013, I was in a very bad relationship. Without going into much detail, this relationship was both mentally and physically abusive that I am still severely traumatised to this day. Anyway, douche bag ex had a very bad credit…

Credit Card Missed Direct Debit - Bank Error
I have a Bank of Scotland credit card that I use sporadically. I keep it separate from my wallet, so there can be some months where I don't spend anything. It's set up to be paid automatically by direct debit, though in the past I've sometimes paid it using FP via online banking. Today when I checked my statement, I…

Why would you ever pay a balance transfer fee?
Hi everyone, I've been wondering for a while: as there are so many cards out there that offer 0% balance transfers with no fee, why would you ever elect to go for a card that charges a fee? Obviously 0% fee cards tend to have shorter offer periods, but why not just balance transfer to another no-fee 0% card at the end of…

Quick Question re 0% Balance Transfer Cards
Hi all I am looking everywhere to find how long I have left, or how long I had in the beginning, on 0% interest for a few cards where I have transferred balances. I've looked on the original email application and statements and can't find it anywhere. I just want to work out how much I need to pay each month to get them…

Confused!
I always pay my Credit Card Statement in full each month so it doesn't matter to me. However I was really confused by what the Barclaycard Customer Services said to me. Surely this can not be true? She said if you pay your minimum balance or any figure over it but under the statement amount you get charged Interest for the…

Went over credit limit
Hi there, I booked a holiday on Monday and paid via credit card to get the protection it offered. Stupidly I didn't think to check my limit as I rarely use it and went approx. £200 over my limited. The building society called me today to check whether I had any money troubles (I don't) and to tell me I've gone over my…

Next Directory Payment with Credit Card
Hi, I've read conflicting advice about paying off a Next directory account with a credit card. I took out a Virgin purchase only card, which is interest free for 27 months, with the intention of using it to pay my Next balance off as I'm being charged interest on that. I have read some older posts on here where people have…

Possible section 75, advice would be helpful
Hi everyone, Last week I received a stone dining table I ordered back in May. When I originally got the quote, I asked for a round table that measured 160cm in diameter. The company said they could only make one that was 159cm as it was limited by the size of the stone itself. As it was close enough, I placed an order with…

I send Capital One a detail income and expenditure sheet, proof of income, and proof of medical problems. I ask if the balance could be written off on medical grounds an inability to pay.…
