HI there,
I am new to the credit card world, simply got one as i was travelling so was using it whilst abroad.
I had my first statement through so i payed it off in full (777.05) via card transaction, not direct debit. I payed it early before the due date, which is the 4/9/2017.
Even though it has come out of my account and into the credit card, my credit card balance has not deducted the 777.05 i payed, why would this be?
Thanks in advance.

Debit card payments can take a (working) day or two to 'clear' onto your account. The card provider may then update your online area overnight, thereby adding another day until you can see it.
If you want to see the account balance reflected sooner, then use the faster payments system (via online or telephone banking) rather than a debit card.0 -
My faster payments to Barclaycard from my Lloyds account shows within the hour. I would expect a card payment to take longer.0

We've come a long way since the old 3-8 day BACS transfers (8 being the worst case scenario from a BS collection account and spanning a weekend and 2 Bank Holidays).0 -
Thanks guys, I did pay from my Santander current account into my Santander Zero account on the 11th August, so I thought that would be more than enough time.
Thanks again0 -

Definitely something wrong if it's taking nearly two weeks.
I only use my Halifax clarity card for offers and overseas spend so it's the only card I have that doesn't have a direct debit set up for the full amount.
When I do make payments from my Halifax reward account it often takes 2-3 days to credit, even though money is debited immediately, first time made me panic a bit as I thought is used the wrong payment reference even though it was the default one.0 -
My ASDA card can take 2 weeks to show a bank transfer from my FD account0
