0% fiasco
I have a 0% deal until Dec'16 with MBNA and another until May'17. They are taking the payments off the May'17 one. This means the Dec'16 will incur interest, even though I will have made enough payments to clear it. This has never happened with any other card.

Online shopping and dispute refund
I purchased from some well-known brand, and I returned a unwanted item back to them via post. The thing is, the free return label is provided by this company, and there is a return tracking number against the order. Obviously the parcel has been signed by them and the company knew that. They just claimed they couldn't find…

Declined due to length of employment
So I was declined for a Lloyd's credit card yesterday. I called them up to ask why (there isn't any obvious reason) and although they said they couldn't give me a definitive answer, the guy I spoke to said that the length of my current employment could have been a factor (I started a new job at the start of the year so I…

Reduction of CC limit (I think)
Hi guys. I have recently received a letter from BOS and a few months back, Lloyds about a reduction in my credit limit. Both letters were identical and stated that "after careful consideration" my limit will be reduced to £xxxx.xx Funny thing is, the new reduced limit is basically the limit I originally had from the start.…

Failed Credit Check to open Halifx Current Account
In the last year I've opened up multiple new current and savings accounts. Some for saving; and some just for switching incentives. I was in the process of switching my Natwest donor account to a Halifax current account; but failed the credit check and unable to open the account. I'm a little confused as I've opened many…

Barclaycard stopping Mastercard
Just got a letter to say that they're closing the Barclaycard Platinum Mastercard and replacing it with a Barclaycard Platinum Visa card. (no choice from Apr 2016 Barclaycard Mastercard will not longer exist). I have already got a Barclaycard Visa card and use one for online and one for others. It's also useful to have a…

Debt collection agency due to credit card chargeback
Hi, I hired a car in Italy and when I got back they had charged roughly £200 to my card. The company would not respond to tell me what the charges were for so I rang MasterCard who charged it back. This all happened in September. This weekend I received a letter from an Italian debt collection agency demanding repayment…

Issue with MBNA not accepting payment
I wondered if anyone could give me any advice about a payment to MBNA? While I was abroad last week I received an email from MBNA saying my account was in arrears and that I now owed them £400+ (a sum I simply don't have). I had set up a standing order just after Christmas to pay £150 each month to MBNA which I knew would…

Help understanding interest
Hi all, I have had a Barclays Freedom card for a few years and never had a problem paying it in full every month. How long without use before card gets cancelled?
I'm sure if this forum had a FAQ section this would be in it, so apologies for that. Likewise, II'm half expecting the answer to be "how long is a piece a string", but from peoples experience on here, I assume a bank or card provider will close the account if you go so long with a ZERO balance..... when would they…

Numerous credit cards
Hi all, I'm pretty new to borrowing and have one credit card I used to by some furniture and white goods. It's getting towards the end of my 0% and I need to transfer. Should I cancel my credit card?
Hi all. First post here. I have read the article on whether or not to cancel a credit card or not but I still am slightly unsure what to do! Here's my scenario: I'm 22. Eligibility checker said pre-approved and yet no answer yet
Hello fellow MSE's... I need some advice; I have just checked the best place to transfer my £3500 from Halifax Credit Card (at 0% until mid April) and decided to go via the eligibility checker for an MBNA card 0%; 32 months; 1.14% fee, as I didn't want a hard search on my credit file. The result came back as pre-approved…
