I have sent this to the Halifax, The financial ombudsmen (because I no longer have any faith that they will do what they say they will) and am proceeding to post anywhere I can find that is suitable on the internet. Anyone been here...
I lived with my then girlfriend until approximately three years ago. When she moved out we had come to an amicable agreement regarding finance. At the time I held a Credit Card Account and she was a second cardholder. Although I transferred my debt balance in 2005, naively, instead of cancelling her card, I tried to get…

ryanair credit card charges
I'm trying to avoid the charges ryanair make for using credit cards - it seems that if you use a visa connect or delta card the charges drop form £6 to £1. Does anybody out there know how i can find out where to get a connect or delta card, it would be worth having one just to pay for the flights!

Warning re trying to beat the bank with balance transfers
Not sure if this has been brought up before on another thread, but I thought I'd warn other consumers about certain "offers" on balance transfers. I opened up a new Abbey credit card, and being an existing customer benefitted from a 2.5% fee on transfers which attracted 0% for 12 months. I transferred a good £3k from other…

Virgin statement & promotional rate
Hi I was really annoyed yesterday when I logged into my virgin account to see I had been charged a load of interest. I wasn't aware my promotional rate was about to expire, there had been no correspondance and there was nothing online to indicate the deal was about to disappear. I called Virgin and they said it was my…

Hello everyone. My mother is currently in hospital and I'd like to transfer her credit card debt/balance onto my 0% card. This is so I can help pay it off and have an interest free breathing space. Can I instruct my card company to press ahead with this without my Mum's consent? She is also paying payment protection on her…

Car salesman taken money from card
We recently had a bit of trouble with a new (used) car so after having it four weeks, we sent it back wednesday and wanted a refund. The car salesman charged us £75 for picking the car up (it couldn't be driven 60 miles back to the dealership because the problem was faulty steering) which we accepted to pay because we've…

If You Want a Higher Credit Limit on a New HSBC Credit Card - Apply in Branch
Thought I would post this message for those of you thinking about applying online for a HSBC credit card. DO NOT APPLY ONLINE if you want a higher credit limit on your card (more than £1500) with HSBC to do a BT. Apply in branch. The online appln doesn't ask you if you want to do a BT, so your appln is considered without…
