Credit Card Advice

Hi all. I need a bit of advice. I have a capital one credit card which i've had for 6 years with a limit of £1600 which has outstanding balance of £800, a dorothy perkins store card with limit of £250 and balances of £70. I know the interest rates are quite high on the store card, and i had a letter regarding the interest rate going up on the capital one card. I applied for a 0% balance transfer card from mint to transfer the balance to, but i got turned down because i've been off work sick for 9 months.
I'm now working part time and can afford to meet the minimum payments, but I really want to get rid of both these cards and get one 0% card so i can just concerntrate on paying off the actual balance instead of the interest, but i'm worried that applying for another card after getting turned down will effect my credit rating.Which card is best to apply for, if any, and will the application go against my credit rating? because of not being at work i was late on a couple of repayments on the capital one card and now i'm worried that i will have extremely bad credit!! HELP!!!

If you are concerned about your credit score then apply for your credit file through one of the credit agencies like Experian.
As you are now working it is reasonable to apply for a card just make sure you don't pick a card with a high salary limit like a American Express or a Platinium card.I suggest you approach your bank first and see what cards they can offer at 0%.
Mean while just make sure you make payments on the cards you have and don't miss any payments, pay off the store card first and soon otherwise the interest will mount up.
