Egg once again raise their interest rates
I joined Egg about 5 years ago when as one of the starter internet only banks offered a 9.9% then I heard some French comapny bought them out about three years ago or so any way they are now 16.9% on purchases  Good job I managed to clear my Egg card down but take advantage of their 5.9% for the lifetime of the…

Are Capped Balance Transfer Fees becoming a thing of the past
In the last few months Marbles, Tesco, Amazon and now Natwest and RBS (according to their website) have removed the cap for balance transfer fees. Are we seeing another blow for stoozing?

Minimum payments
Hello, I have a £1,500 overdraft which at almost 18% is costing me! I am paying off other debts and feel unable to tackle the overdraft full on right now. But, is it a good idea to move the overdraft to a credit card with a low 'life of balance' interest rate and pay the minimum until I can start paying more? I feel like…

BC Provisional Acceptance
Hi, New post so hello all... I applied for a Barclaycard (through Littlewoods as I have an account with them) and received a "Provisional Acceptance" letter requesting ID. I have sent the requested ID to them; does this mean I will definitely be accepted (or have been already) after they check the documents? Just want to…

New credit on no income?
Hi, I am not working at the moment, although I do have cash coming in from Ebay, hubby etc. This means I pay the minimum payment on my credit card off on time every month. However my CC is from HSBC, had it for years and always paid it off in full, until this unemployed time. The APR is something like 24% - I pay £50/month…

HSBC balance transfers... .
I did a balance transfer onto my HSBC credit card at a promotional rate of 9.9% in June, which runs out in January and reverts to the original rate of about 1000000% (maybe about 18% to be honest) . If I were to do a balance transfer today which was for another six months (so until March time), would any payment I made…

Do the banks ever get wise to tarting?
Obviously banks hate tarts as they don't make any money from them. Can they track your tarting history, and do they? I just ask as I've been a super good tart for several years now, starting with debts of around ten grand which are now at about seven, but haven't paid a penny of interest. WIll they eventually stop offering…

Nice suprise from old cards not cancelled
Just done a quick call around some old cards I hadn't cancelled to see what they would offer as a balance transfer rate. I didn't really threaten to cancel (seeing as they have been unused for anything since a balance transfer over a year ago, I didn't think I'd have much of a leg to stand on.>YOU'LL LOSE MY…

CC transfer via PayPal
I'm sorry if this has been discussed before but I've searched for and read the PayPal threads and they get too confusing or go off track. I need to receive £1000 from a relative. We're both in the UK (ie Sterling). I don't know what CCs he has or what promotional periods are available. Can I set up a free PayPal account…

Credit Limits on New M&S 3.9%LOB/12m 0% Purchases Card

Credit Rating More Likely Life of Balance Than 0%?
I recently got turned down for another 0% balance transfer...bringing an untimely halt to my tarting exploits! Is it more likely that I would be accepted for a life of the balance transfer such as the Marks and Spencer card at 3.9%? I want to apply but I don't want to damage my credit rating further if I'm turned down…

Dealing with spam on this site
Can I suggest that in future it would be best if spam posts are reported, but not replied to? Replying simply bumps them back up the list, and they get more of the attention they're looking for.

Bad MBNA.....
I really hate MBNA I've renamed them Mean Blighters Nasty Attitudes. Had MBNA account - which I had paid off. The APR on MBNA was lower than another card I had - so I wanted to do a balance transfer. My card had expired and in August I received a letter saying ".... valued customer...... good reasons to start using your…
