                                  in Credit cards

Just done a quick call around some old cards I hadn't cancelled to see what they would offer as a balance transfer rate. I didn't really threaten to cancel (seeing as they have been unused for anything since a balance transfer over a year ago, I didn't think I'd have much of a leg to stand on.>YOU'LL LOSE MY CUSTOM.....>what custom? oh. yeah. fair enough...)
Anyhows, M&S card offered 9.9% for life up to £3000, no fee and Abbey National offered me 1.9% for 6 months for £3000 with a £75 fee - this equates to approx. 6% for 6 months. Not as great as it could have been, but I didn't want to go and apply for a new card as we've just done a credit score for 0% finance on our new tv. Much better than my 18 odd % HSBC card that the cash is sitting on at the moment.

Tried this with my Nationwide credit card, not used for ages - could they offer me a balance transfer deal? 'No' was the answer. Oh well. Plan B.Taking control, slowly.:rotfl: :rotfl:0

Just phoned Lloyds TSB the other day, which I haven't used in ages, and they initially offered 4.9% for 6 months, then said, no, wait, we can offer you 0% for 6 months with a fee! :T :T :T so just moved everything from my Egg card, would never have thought of trying stuff like that before joining this site! So thank you MSE!tying hard to cut down grocery shop bill...0
