Abbey business accounts
For a while now, there has been a warning on Abbey's website that there will be a security upgrade in the near future. Well, it's happening this weekend. This means no access to the account whatsoever (in or out). I saw no prior warning of this. Did I just miss it or does anyone know of any prior warning being given…

When i say I just realised, what I mean is that I realised there is a possibilty that they may charge for non usage, as I dont trust HSBC as…

overseas account (Germany)
Hi does anyone know about having or have a current account in Germany? I used to live there and buy a lot of stuff from e-bay Germany, but quite a few people don't have paypal and an international bank transfer would cost me £25 a pop  I think it would be worthwhile my opening a current account there, but I know…

Does anyone know how long from when a bill is issued it takes the DD to come out of an account?? I ask this because my BT and O2 accounts usually take 14 days from the date the bill was posted online to be taking out of my account. Is 14 days the norm or just whatever the company decides??

Halifax current account - application criteria?
I've just realised from reading another thread with a link to a Halifax FAQ that Faster Payments are not possible (and may never be?) from their savings accounts, only BACS. It's the recent frantic rush to move money around to catch rates which has brought this to mind ;) I've had a variable Web Saver for near enough 2…

This is an article stating what their plans are for the names of the banks in the new group if it is formed. It seems we will lose all LTSB in Scotland and they will become Bank of Scotland! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/7766585.stm

BACS - Electronic transfer, I thought this was free…
Upon receiving an invoice for little under £20 I went to my local Lloyds in Ashford to pay through BACS… However I was told by the Lloyds advisor that the transfer fee would be £30, so made financial sense to pay by alternative means. Secondly, I was instructed by the company who issued the invoice, in being a German…

"newbie" question.....their Premier Direct Current Account rate of interest changes to 0.1% when the balance reaches £2500. Am I correct that the 0.1% only applies to the amount above £2.5k? The minimum amount per month is £500. Can I just put in £2500 when opening it?
