Can't Make Payments Through RBS??

Has anyone else noticed you can't make payments (i.e send money to another bank account) on RBS online banking? I used to be able to, but apparantly need a 'card reader' now??

Virtually all banks and building societies require you to have a card reader.

If you don't already have a card reader for your RBS account online, you can order one through the side menu under Account Admin > Order Card Reader.

I've used it myself to pay for bills online too, so it's for more than just transferring funds.

Got one now, should be coming soon.
Maybe I've just not done it in a while but wasn't the way it used to be the last time I did it!

Halifax doesn't, nor Abbey. I doubt HSBC require a card reader either.

Nationwide requires card reader for every one-off payment as well as setting up the payee in the first place.

    Exactly the same as RBS/Natwest.
