Does every broadband switch incur double charging for a 14 day cancellation period?
I'm a bit confused as to whether this is legal. Utility switches don't work this way? EE charged my account (£11.60) for a 'cancellation period' (7 jul 2015 to 21 jul 2015). My 1 year contract ended (7 jul 2015) and the service was switched to Sky (3 Jul 2015). EE were probably notified around the 25 Jun 2015. Obviously,…
Massive price increases at TalkTalk & Cartel like behaviour?
TalkTalk was not interested in negotiating prices which is why I left and because I am moving soon so do not want to get hit for that. I got peeved about TalkTalk pulling a fast one when I decided to leave and had a look to see how prices compare and was really shocked. Prices seem to have increased across the board,…
Changing broadband from BT but keeping phone number
Hi, I've been helping my mother in law switch away from BT for phone and internet as they are charging a horrendous amount for the package that she is on. We've found many cheaper options however from what she's being told it appears that she would have to change her landline phone number to leave BT. This is a major…
TalkTalk PVR when you leave
What I want to know is what happens when you move YouView box to another service provider? Do you lose the saved programmes? Do you lose PVR? Can you reformat the thing and make use of it as you can with a SkyPlus box? I gather it is an industry standard box (YouView) that TalkTalk rebadge. I also heard that Freeview have…
Talk Talk Rip Off Termination
I have been a customer of TalkTalk for 4 years and previously they seemed to want my business, but it seems that they no longer do so I terminated my account when it was due to expire. So here is the rip off, if I leave TalkTalk and go to another ISP it is immediate, I just tell the new provider and they do not even need a…
BT phone and broadband
I think my BT contract was up for renewal last month (September). Without actually having to ring them up and speak to them is there anywhere I can find out the exact date when the contract ended? Have checked my BT bill but can't see any information on there. Thanks.
Broadband Speed variable
I have done a few speed tests at various times. I find it is variable ranging from as low as 1.5 to as high as 6.5 (I use the phrase as high sparingly). Any ideas as to why the speeds should vary? And if there is anything that can be done to maintain the higher speeds. My provider is supposed to not slow down the internet…
Help with Dongle query
Hello All. I have a query. During Monday to Thursday I live in a house with wifi already paid. Then at the weekend I come back to mine. I don't have a TV so my evenings are spent on an IPad. I don't have a laptop on any other computer. I pay the standard monthly broadband costs (£38) but it's never very good rural coverage…
Horrendous time switching
This is more of a rant than a question but wondered if anyone else has had similar trouble. Broadband suppliers do not make it easy at all to switch. I'm coming to the end of my contract with BT where if I wanted to stay are going to up my cost. So I shopped around and settled on a good deal from EE for £1 a month plus…
4G Home Broadband, any better deals than EE?
Without Fibre in our area we struggle for a decent Broadband speed and often turn the WiFi off on mobile devices to use the faster speeds of 4G. As an existing EE customer I gave them a call yesterday about 4G in the Home and they were able to offer me a Huawei device on different 12 Month Contracts - 20GB - £25pm (£22.50…
