Ratting on benefit cheats
Hello I want to report someone who told me they had forgotten to mention something on their application for benefit, if you catch my drift. However, if they were to draw up a list of suspects who may have dobbed them in, I am sure my name would be on it. When DWP contact people as a result of info, do they say 'we have…

CTC cuts to £40k income families - based on 10/11 income?
My OH was unemployed from April to end October 2010 and received JSA (c) for this time. His FT annual salary is £17500. I will earn approx £26000 during the tax year. We currently get the basic £545 CTC. Clearly on our joint salary we are above the new £40k CTC threshold. However as our earnings for the 10/11 was…

Tax Rate changes and Child Benefit
I saw on BBC News today that "The threshold at which the higher rate of tax kicks in is to be reduced to £35,001, from £37,400". Late last year the news was saying about Child Benefit being dropped for higher-rate tax payers, the article indicates that the higher rate is where one parent earns £44,000. Do these 2 articles…

And it's starting to cost me a fortune! I've been trying to ring them in the cheap times for a week now (after 6pm and on sat) and haven't been able to get through, no matter how many times I've tried (a LOT) and today is the last day I need to advise them of my self employed income! I'm not sure what to do, I've been…

Appealing ESA decision
I tried to go into this whole thing with a positive mindset. I posted on someone else's thread that I'd felt my dealings with the benefit people were really positive and I was certainly going to get what I was entitled to and it really wasn't so bad as you always hear and then they sent me a letter saying miraculously I'm…

Declaring Actual Income & Redunadancy Payment
Sorry if this is a bit long-winded - I'll try to include all relevant information... My husband was self-employed when making our Tax Credits Annual Declaration for the period 2009 to 2010, so we declared an estimate that was higher than his expected earnings for that period. Tomorrow he will phone HMRC to adjust the…

I tried to claim contribution based JSA in October but was refused due to insufficient national insurance credits for the year ending April 2008. Carer's allowance
My son has just been re-assessed for DLA, as he turned 12, and got it. They actually stopped it for 6 weeks while the got more evidence. At the same time, they stopped my wife's Carer's Allowance. On benefits and changing bank details
I'm looking into changing banks, therefore, my bank details will change. Do I just write a letter to JSA & DLA stating my details have changed and what they are? Or am I given a form to fill in? How do I find out the details for my local BDC? Not received anything from JSA about how much I'll be getting each week yet.
