I live in a rented house that my mum and dad have paid for me I have two children I wanted to start working for Avon for probably about 16 hours per week and no my nurseries fees are about 100 per week I am getting so confused at it all I filled in form on working tax crd its and it said I would be entitled to 2100 or something like that over a certain period minus childcare I think? I am a bit confused by it all could someone please explain if you no a bit better than me? Thank you in advance x

If you're working part time doing Avon where you can choose your hours, why would you need childcare? Are they both at school? Tax credits are PLUS childcare, not minus.

Also as Avon is self employed, you will need to register as self employed with HMRC and keep a set of accounts. Its not too difficult and your local Business Link runs basic book-keeping courses from time to time.
  • Well my 3 year old gets nursery paid 3 afternoons didn't I included that and my one year old I could take with me but obviously would be difficult and when there in bed 7 ish would be to late wouldn't it? That's why I had included childcare, thank you for your help x

If the little one will be in bed, who is providing the childcare?

You can only get the childcare element if your children are with a registered company/childminder.

To be honest, you're not making much sense ~ does your 3 yr old get the sessions paid for them, or do you pay £100 a week for them?
Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...
  • Sorry I kind of type like I talk I am a bit confusing sorry my little boy is at a registered childcare provider already and I do have to pay extra each week as his nursery is 52 weeks of the year so works out more hours so I included that in the 100 also put two afternoons in as well for my 1 year old so it would maybe be less then a hundred but that was kind of a guess for now without asking nursery how much it will be, sorry I feel like I am rambling again!! Lol

why would you need childcare if you are doing avon? and why is the exact figure of 16 hours always quoted? is this so you can get extra benefits for working so many hours?
    Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.
  • I said i would be roughly doing 16hours per week as i thought this is part time hours? And no this is not so i can get more benefits for doing more hours it is so i can try and earn more! I clearly dont understand the benefits that is why i was asking on here, And if i want to try and make some proper money from this i am going to have to put in the time and effort so i dont think i can really be dragging my kids around with me thats why i said i would be trying to put in for two afternoons a week.
