Having read a few threads recently we need a 'what to do with' thread
Can I start?
I have 2 tins of salmon, what can I do with these? Not keen on it hot.
Hope this helps a few of us with storecupboard items we then have no idea what to do with

No idea about the salmon if you don't like it hot, what about instead of tuna mayonnaise?
Just really wanted to say - great idea for a thread! It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -

Hello,
I use tinned salmon to make a yummy pasta salad.
Cook the pasta, cool in cold water. Add the salmon, plenty of cucumber chopped into little pieces, some rocket, some mayo and natural yoghurt. Very tasty and yummy for lunch.
I got the idea from a pasta salad I bought in tesco as I wanted to replicate it.
Hope that helps,

I shall what 'im indoors would prefer, new pots or pasta!0 -
I know that you said that you don't like it hot, but have you tried making it into Fish Cakes?
Drain the Salmon, add equal amount of cold mashed potatoes and the yolk of a small egg to bind. season to taste. You can add some parsley if you like. Either dust in flour or breadcrumbs and shallow fry until golden. (the fish and potatoes are already cooked so this doesn't take long.0 -
Dave I also meant to say maybe you could edit the title slightly as I had thought you were asking "what to do with thread?"It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Hi,
Good idea for a thread.
horsechestnut does the fishcake recipe work with sardines in oil too? I often end up with too much mash and have loads of tins of sardines and pilchards.
After mixing do you cook then freeze or freeze uncooked on a tray?
Just thought I would keep things fishy.
Cold salmon and mayo or butter sounds good on a hot toasted bruschetta. sp?
