Currently going to Slimming World, need to lose a lot, down 1 1/2 st already, had set target of 2 before I go on holidays, if I keep going the way I am, will make it 2 1/2 before I go. The major downside is my clothes are now a tad too big & I don't know what to buy:( Will need to do a mega spend before I go, but am feeling the benefits immensely, so got to be a good thing.
Have you considered looking in charity shops?
I buy most of my clothes from them.

You could buy stuff for your holiday and then re-donate it when more weight comes off.

More MSE than doing a 'mega spend'. :)

Yay, huge congratulations PRINCESSKITTY, I was thinking of you the other day so glad to know little Joshua has arrived, he's totally gorgeous and what a fabulous picture too. You'll have to edit your signature now :D

POLLYCAT welcome to the thread - apologies if you've posted before and I missed it, my memory isn't what it was lol.

0462 DH got the bark chippings down yesterday while I was out (just one bag to go) so the rain bedded them in. Unfortunately he lost his balance and fell over so is sporting a grazed chin and head. :( I've let his doc know as this will be his fourth fall in six weeks, he's got an appointment in August for a Parkinson's assessment although his GP doesn't think it's that but there's definitely something not right. Good luck with the plasterers it's so exciting, bet you can't wait now. Am in awe of your Christmas prep, just can't get myself motivated this time around which is strange to say the least.

VULPIX I'm the same, absolutely no point buying chocolate ahead of time in this house although chocolate oranges would be safe as I don't like them :D. My DD1 is having real problems losing weight, whatever she does nothing seems to happen (ww, personal trainer, Fitbit) so I've asked a pharmacist friend to give us her opinion on whether DD's arthritis meds might be contributing. She's done ww before and got down to a size 12 but since the baby weight it just isn't happening and I feel so sorry for her. Doesn't help that DD2 is willowy and model like (no idea where she gets it from though).

FREE hope you have a lovely peaceful week and really enjoy your tidy house.

Nothing festive going on here. Still waiting for confirmation from tradesmen for the kitchen move which is really frustrating. Why don't people do what they say they will instead of leaving you hanging on.

Just a quickie, I had a dream last night that I was buying my Christmas tree this month but they were all yellow and dying from the heat, I was so upset as I didn't want a yellow tree :rotfl:

    Hi everybody,

Plasterers have been put back a day as a job they are on is running over, so they are coming friday and saturday now. We don't mind as we have 2 weeks before electrician/joiner comes back to finish skirting boards etc.
Need to ring the Dr tomorrow for another sick note, not ready to go back in yet. Im still resting, the electric shock feeling has gone but I am still in alot of pain. Maybe another week will do it.

pollycat- great idea about charity shops, saves paying out whilst still losing weight
Chrissyg- sounds like a lovely day and christmas bargains are always a good find.
Peppapig- Oh no I hope you DH is ok, that is worrying he has had so many falls. Its good that your DR is on with the tests though. Hopefully is nothing but its best to get it checked out. Christmas prep is on hold as we have got so much to pay out at the moment with the DIY and our holiday soon. It seems to be money money money later. Its a big birthday for my mum in july too and I have no idea what to get her!
Free- wow what a dream! see you are subconsciously thinking about christmas lol

Could you arrange to go and do something together rather than a gift perhaps? My mum had a big one last year (although I celebrated her main gift the year before on a short break away) but myself and DB also bought her theatre tickets for her actual b'day too (it was something I was thinking of doing to take her but she independently said about going with a school friend as it was special to the two o them so we just paid for the tickets for the two of them). She doesn't want 'things' so I try to give her memories instead.

046- glad the pain is becoming a little more manageable, keep taking the tablets x

Vulpix- that's it- you are DEFINITLEY a wonder woman in my eyes to achieve everything you do with that operative history! (Is the gate painted yet?) How is DD getting on with her job?

Free- you must have Christmas on your mind to dream like that- we are getting closer now, less than 6 months to the big day!

GTQ- wow to that weight loss (and Free x).Clothes being too big is a lovely predicament to have x

Peppa- oh no, your poor DH. He must be a bit anxious about it which may be making his balance worse and you have had a lot going on recently which may be making a difference.

Princess Kitty- Joshua is gorgeous! Well done you for bringing another handsome boy into the world. Its true, on the whole you are far more relaxed with the second because you've 'already read the manual' with the first! How is Wiggle with his new brother?

Chrissy- sounds as if you had a good time at the horse sanctuary- I get a little bit excited when I see Christmas stuff on sale in the middle of the year too.

Mrs I- glad to hear the China contingent are keeping you occupied and happy.
Clumsy- have you recovered after the wedding?

Kerri- I like the idea of a 'to do' rather than a 'thing' too. My DD treated me to a posh champagne afternoon tea for my birthday this year which was lovely.
    lovin' this site!
    :j
  • PK, if you fancy putting Joshua up for adoption, I am happy to be among the long queue! He is gorgeous, hope Wiggle is happy with him.

Pollycat, didn't think of charity shops, so will have a look there.

Free, I've been going to SW for about 2 months, got weigh in tonight, feel like a beached whale this morning so not holding out much hope. I am going on the premise I do an average of 2lb per week, I currently have a "free" week in that I am 2lb ahead of my plan, so not going to stress unduly.

I bought a couple of Ted Baker bits from Boots which I will put away, they also supplied a freebie if you bought 2 items. Not sure whether to do do a TB hamper or use as tokens, will decide nearer the time.

FREE that sounds more like a nightmare

0462, not surprised you don't feel ready to go back yet, you're virtually immobile. Shame about the plasterers being delayed but at least they let you know and, as you say, you've got time in the schedule.

KERRI I think I might do experiences for a couple of people this year. The problem with my mum is that she's got grumpier and harder to please as she's got older and usually finds something to complain about when we go out lol.

MURIE have a fabulous break next week.
