Just to add to rufusdog's advice when you are sewing the button on put something else in between the button & the coat to give you the space (sorry my description is terrible) with a thinner material I've used a toothpick so maybe a chopstick or knitting needle. Sew the button & toothpick. chopstick or whatever onto the coat, then slide it out then wrap the thread around the shank. If that doesn't make sense hopefully someone else can decipher it lol.Booo!!!0

Wow thats really pretty Winnie xx
And the birds are gorgeous Pennib xx
I made a start on some bags, cut out 4 and started sewing two of them but then OH went on nights so they have been left for the moment. Still trying to rescue my quilt that the machine stitching went wrong on. The top looks ok (ish) now, just got to finish sorting out the reverse so I can try to sell it. Might hand stitch some embroidery over the worse bits today.0 -

Hello all
I apologise if this has been asked before, I have browsed this thread and I am very impressed with how creative and inventive you are on here.
As I am now part-time working, I have more time, and want to start doing my own projects like curtain making, plus, would like to transform the main bedroom into something more like 'shabby chic' (yes I've been browsing on that thread too!).
It's just me, OH and my DDog, so, looking to make our home a nicer place to be. We've completed a lot of repairs/modernising to our little bungalow, basic decoration, but it just needs more to make it cosy, I think.
Any advice gratefully recieved, thanks in advance all!
Kind regards

That is really pretty winniepooh.
Have only made another tea wallet recently as requested by my mum for one of her cousins. Need to get back on the sewing machine but have been decorating / spring cleaning recently.
