Old Style Diary Archive - OCT 05

My god its getting late on in the year! It feels like last xmas was only a few weeks ago....

Anyway, have had another very active day, and fancied a babble before I go shower and bed as im exhausted after today. Training course went excellent again, I managed to win pretty much all of the challenges (im getting a big head now!) so I feel I did myself proud, and made a few friends to keep in touch with.

I drove back and went straight to my friends this evening, boyf had a gig so I went along and had a good dance, and am now utterly shattered. Got home to a lovely letter from next telling me my rug shall be with me shortly and that the change of electricity water and gas suppliers have been changed properly. Ive also had a quick clean up as boyf has a london friend over to visit (dont know where he is gonna sleep though!) but its still a bit of a tip, but its just going to have to wait until I finish work tomorrow, I dont have the energy for anything else!

Have a few minor bits and pieces to do tomorrow but nothing too exhausting, just a bit of food shopping etc and a bit of a clean up and laundry/ironing, but im so looking forward to Sunday, Ive decided that Sundays are now my day of complete rest, except for making a nice dinner, so I can do some reading etc for my own enjoyment.

Tomorrow Ive also got to put in my petrol expenses claim and ring the delivery company who have been trying to deliver to me without success so far as they didnt know my flat number, hopefully its either my mugs or the mp3 player, either way, im happy!

Hope you all have great saturdays, im sure mine will be as busy as ever!

Not a good night here but overdid it yesterday  have to rest as we're going to my sisters tomorrow for the day and is an hour journey

Got 2 washloads to do this morning, but looks like the TD will be used again as its wet here. Want to also sort my wardrobe out with OH as I have so many clothes that no longer fit me-so will ebay them. Many still have labels, but am now a 12 and these are a 16/18. Must try and get them on today but will turbo list them ;) a few parcels need to be wrapped for monday.

The cleaner did a very good job yesterday and was very pleased :D so no cleaning needed today-apart from a sweep through and getting OH to put things away and wipe sides after using them

Breakie will be bacon butty for all 3 of us. Lunch breaded cod, mash & peas (didnt have yesterday) and dinner will be HM pizza (for dd and OH) and I may have a birdseye roast lamb dinner

DD at saturday school this morning for 2 hours, so will do my wardrobe and piccies for ebay whilst she is out, then we can spend the afternoon together as a family. Might knock up another fruit cake in the BM and take with me tomorrow and must remember to get the coconut rock cake recipe from sister. She also does a wicked victoria sponge cake.

Will catch up later. Have a great day.

    Good Morning!

Have been up for a while with kids, on my 2nd cuppa, bread just out of BM. In an hour or so DS1 will go swimming with DH and then I will take DS2 and DD to a gardening club party at their school (yeah I know, riveting).

Will go out again at lunchtime probably.

Don't know what we'll be eating today

    Anyway, have a good one!

    Hiya

Having a strange sort of day today. Didn't sleep at all well last night, but then my mum rang yesterday to say that my Uncle (her brother) had a stroke and isn't likely to even regain conciousness. He's been ill for a long time and was going downhill fast, which is why he was still at home. I feel for my mum though - within 4 weeks she will have lost her husband and her only brother - basically the 2 men (in her life as her sis and BIL live in Canada) It's too early to ring my mum, but I'm not expecting him to have survived the night :(

So, I was going to put a big leg of lamb in the slow cooker and do a gooseberry crumble as mum and aunt were coming here for tea. Doubt they will now. Will have to cook lamb today or tomorrow as it had defrosted too much to stick it back in the freezer. I'll think about it in a while.

DS1 is going to his first karate lesson later - he thinks he'll be chopping blocks of wood in half by the time he gets home :D At least it will be a release for his energies - he's not good at footy and spends his life charging round the house pretending to karate kick 'baddies' Mr TM can drop him off and then take DS2 into town with him, so an hour or so on my own. :)

Oh, went back to good old fashioned 'school' food yesterday - made semolina pud. Some of the kids wouldn't touch it but the 13yo loved it, as did me and Mr TM (I had more for my supper) Quite fancy a tapioca one soon too - that is my absolute fave milk pud.

Have a good day anyway and be good :D

  • Good morning everyone :hello:

I'm (yet again!) sat at the PC in my towel lol!

DD's had her brekkie, DH has gone to work. My Sainsbury delivery is due between 11 + 12. My house is a complete S**t hole! and we have friends coming at 2pm!!

When I eventually pull myself away from here I need to blitz the house completely, and put yet another load of washing on. Lunch will be bacon butties for me and DD. DH has taken a carton of (yellow stickered) cottage cheese to work for his lunch lol! I'm going to stick some pizza dough in the BM as we're having HM pizza tonight (ham and pineapple!!)

Just sat and done the finances  We have £225 to last until 25th Oct and we have to go to a wedding (why are they so expensive!!) so that will be petrol (it's only 40 min drive away so not too much hopefully! drinks (DH is driving so will be drinking soft drinks) we've already bought the pressie (£32!)

Well I really must pull my finger out!! Although guaranteed when I tidy the bedroom I'll procrastinate and come on here!!!

    Have a good day everyone!!!
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )

    Morning all,

Have been back from holiday for a week and been so busy catching up with work and stuff. Did a load of washing yesterday and hung it on the airer inside, and boil washed some towels last night so have hung them up inside too wherever I could find space.

This morning I want to clean the house, it's starting to look quite grubby as haven't done anything since the holiday so need to hoover, dust and polish throughout.

This afternoon I'm going to a jumble sale so hopefully will pick up a few bargains. Then will drive to a small town nearby and look for a couple of cheap work shirts and might even treat myself to a couple of pieces of cheap dress jewellery as I saw they had some nice stuff in the shops there.

Will have a look at the holidays as part of Clubcard deals as we have quite a lot of deals vouchers to use towards a holiday and it would be nice to book up and have it to look forward to.

Just need to find the motivation to get dressed and get moving!

    Hi everyone!!
Have been conspicious by my absence this week as it's been rather a strange one. I've had my wedding anniversary and birthday both of which were fab but we also had to have our 17 year old moggie put down. I've had her 14 years and do miss her even if she was a grumpy old thing! We will get another in due course but I'm not ready at the moment.
Found a gorgeous embroidered cardigan in Oxfam for £4.99 this week and when I got home discovered that I had the perfect earrings to go with it so saved it and wore it as my birthday outfit.
Today I've hoovered and generally caught up on some paperwork. I have a friend from college coming for lunch today. I'm doing pasta with ham, veg and single cream stirred through followed by Eve's pudding which OH made during the week and we froze. Tomorrow we're off on a walk to Petworth Park to see the fallow deer and collect sweet chesnuts. If I get my act together I would like to make chesnut soup with them.
Hope you all have a good weekend
    Regards
    Aril :j

    morning guys :j

have a wash in machine and one on the line as it is nice day. loaf is in breadmaker and i have just sliced up yesterdays for the freezer for toast.

DS's 1 & 2 have gone to music class at the local community centre 10.30-12.00 loads of drumming and guitars etc, they love it! and 50p each so cant complain!!!

lunch is pasta and pesto with cream and bacon....a family favourite in our house! the older two are at their dads tonight so he feeds them so the little two will probably get fishfingers and chips for tea...and me? who knows...i really have to start tackling that beef in gravy mountain! :rotfl:

will probably make some more biscuits today....and maybe a quiche for lunch tomorrow with the leftover bacon from todays lunch.

i try my hardest not to do too much housework on the weekend as i like to spend the time enjoying the kids, although i have done the ironing this morning...yesterdays washing (i try and do it everyday so that it doesnt build up and become overwhelming!)

sent DS1 to shop to get pot of cream for lunch but he tripped over on driveway and cut his knee and spilt it! so as he was in tears i sent DS2 down to get another pot! oh well, he was so upset bless him!

have a good OS day everyone! :D:D

Hello everyone, hope you're having a fab Saturday so far.

Aril, sorry to hear about your kitty, it's absolutely horrible when our pets have to leave us. I lost two cats this year, one to kidney failure and one on the road - they were my two youngest while my Tabitha who is 18 just keeps on going (despite constipation, deafness, and thyroid problems).

I have all my shopping done - I graced the aisles of Lidl and Sainsbury's on Thursday/ Friday. Yesterday was Lidl shop to get fruit, veg and cat food. I'm on the GI diet which calls for brown rice, brown pasta...brown everything in fact...but the choice in Lidl is such that there is no choice but to go to Sainsbury's to stock up on those things. The diet is working though, my clothes have a bit more room in them. I don't weigh myself (went into "starvation" about 15 years ago which I think was prompted by what the scales said rather than how I felt or looked - I looked vile when I was like that, so no more weighing myself).

I baked a cake on Thursday evening for a colleagues birthday yesterday - so for the day I was classed as an amazing genius. It was so easy though, a fabulous carrot cake from the Index here which involved minimum preparation, and in return the cake was totally divine. OK so that was yesterday but the glory is lingering today...

Just a bit of vacuum cleaning and a load of washing to do today, then I'll go for a nice long brisk walk.

    Cheerio everyone.

Went to Lidl this morning and got some vegetables and a sack of potatoes as well as Mozzarella for home made pizza and some bread flour.

Back on slimming world diet and today is a green day so breekie was scrambled eggs on a piece of wholemeal toast- lunch was baked potato with home made cauliflower cheese and tea is in the slow cooker- a mix of quorn sausages ,beans, tomatoes, garlic, onions and potatoes.

Fingers crossed it is enjoyable as I have not tried it before and I am trying not to "punish "myself.

One daughter is at a friends and another is just about to go stay with a friend so may be able to start on the ironing at last!

Feel so poorly today. Had big ideas for the day of having house sorted and cleaned, all my shopping done, everything in its place all the little jobs done.. and then spending a lovely relaxing night with OH as he finishes work at 2 hours early tonight. NO chance.. rang him when i woke up.. hes going to see his mates after work "but i can go if i want" No thanks! Then cos i feel so poop i cant be bothered sorting the house out. Got a HUUUGE shop coming from asda this evening though so need to sort some space in the understairs cupboard (which has a big old fashioned -victorian maybe? wooden door on and is in my kitchen so i suppose its my pantry! ;) ) otherwise i think i'll leave everything else.

Oh got to look for a new job though :( Due to being off sick again (4th time in 26 weeks my head is on the chopping block at Mr Tescos. Going back to a final written warning for attendance because my abscence percentage is over 3%! ) Would rather walk before im pushed though.. and know i will get pushed if im off sick again even for an hour (they include being sent home during a shift as a abscence) during the NEXT 26 weeks.. and with my habit of being ill when someone even coughs on me.. i dont think i'll manage it. Only problem is finding a job with my limited qualifications that pays the £7.30 an hour and full time that i need to cover my bills.
