Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 15 march. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Hi early today, kids been up since 5 so just took them downstairs:rolleyes:
my kids are slightly deranged i think, they put on toy story 2 to watch but are they watching it in english? NO! they have put it on french and are in hysterics everyime someone speaks:rotfl:

Hi KYLE - for some reason, it made me really laugh at the thought of your children watching Toy Story in French - I hope they enjoy it and they'll be learning another language by accident!
Have just read the rest of yesterday’s thread.
SMOKY – you must have one determined OH there! Thanks for the update – it’s wonderful that you are keeping us informed. I’m sorry that you won’t qualify for much in the way of help but at least he keeps his IB and I hope you can sort out some work that meets you needs timewise. Please give Eric a (((hug))) from me and, also, massive (((hugs))) to you and your children. Prayers and thoughts with you all.
MARTYN – what a positive post. I’m so glad you did as you were told by REDRUBY; it worked, didn’t it? Your meal doesn’t sound that bad, actually, and the main thing is that you enjoyed it. If you really want to go back to Scotland to live, anything is possible, isn’t it? Have motorhome, will travel! If you keep the thought of moving back there in your mind every time you feel anxious or upset, it’ll keep your spirits up. Find the best picture you can of your favourite part of Scotland and keep it handy to remind you of your ultimate goal. I hope you have a great day today and keep us posted!
CHURCHMOUSE – :hello: :hello: :hello:
(((Hugs))) to all who are in need today.
Well, I was exhausted last night and spent most of the evening dozing off on the sofa – a far cry from what I used to do on a Friday night! I went to bed while DH was still on the phone to his brother and conked right out until 5am this morning so I actually feel quite rested.
I am getting a really positive response to the ‘squares for our MSE OS blanket’ project. For anyone who didn’t read my last post yesterday, the squares need to be 8” x 8” in DK yarn, knit or crochet, plain or patterned, whatever takes your fancy, in shades of red, rust, orange, etc – all the warm autumny colours. If you want to add your forum name to it, please feel free. If you pm me with your email addresses I will email back with my home address for posting the squares. No pressure, timewise, remember – we all have other commitments – it would be great to get it done for the end of the summer, beginning of autumn. Thanks to all those who have said they would love to contribute.
Well, DH is working today so I am going to re-organise my craft room – which is in a complete mess because I started to re-organise it about three weeks ago and ran out of time! I also need to go shopping for potatoes. For some reason, although I did my big food shop yesterday, I completely forgot them. I’m going to DS2 and his bride-to-be’s house for lunch and then back home to knit, hopefully, for the afternoon.
Anyway, will call back in later. Have a great day.

Good morning every-one.I hope you are all well.
I havent visited this thread for such a long time. I am up early because my brain is ticking over too much to sleep. Also my littlest one woke at 5 am saying his eye hurts/itchy.(conjunctivitis?) Its a tiny bit red so i will get that looked at later.I started renovating my pine dresser (after i read the shabbythread). Thats turned out wrong so i am now trying to sort that out by sanding the paint off and restarting that `project`! So much for restful and peaceful weekends! Have a good saturday every-one.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Your really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” Lucille Ball.0 -
Morning All!
I'm up early again, on a Saturday too! Must be those steroids:rotfl:
DS will be asleep till lunchtime, that boy could sleep for England! Work for him this afternoon, rugby for me..........COME ON WALES! We are backing Wales in our house, because my Mamma was Welsh. When the season started Daddy put a bet on in her memory that Wales would win the whole lot, and I think she's helping them:T
Need to find some wallpaper paste and filler today. Where the banister and radiator have been taken off the walls, there are holes for the screws, doesn't look good
at the moment, but I can't redecorate the stairs so filler will have to do!
((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) to Smokey, keep going, you'll get there.
((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) to Martyn too. See, It's not always as bad as you fear, talking to others can REALLY help!:j
Have a great day guys!

Morning. I like saturday mornings. I have work at 3pm, but for now I can drink a nice cup of coffee. Play on the computer while everyone else is asleep. There is no rush to go anywhere, no packed lunches to make.
It's pretty grey out there today, cool and looks liek it will be raining later. I might plant some seeds in the greenhouse, but it is still quite cold. Cucumbers have sprouted in a tray in my office, so I will pot them on in a week or so and start to harden them off in the greenhouse later.
Well might go and get a paper and take the dog for a walk.... Have a nice dayNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Hello all.
Don't feel too bad this morning, in spite of yet another poor nights' sleep. I'll try the motorhome tonight. It might be a little noisier as it's nearer the road but the beds are infinitely more comfortable than the setee
It's a bit of a grey day down here so I'm not sure what's on today, other than w**k, as usual. Hopefully I'll get some more cheques in the post. I bit the bullet and put my scuba diving gear up for sale last week and there's been a lot of interest in it. I didn't really want to sell it but the debts have to go. At some point, I'll have to do a carboot sale. That should be fun on my own
Mioliere - I've got a great photo as my screensaver. It's a shot of the 'van in a layby at the side of a sea loch just north of Oban, looking northwards to the Nevis range. I took it last year on holiday and it keeps me going.
Have a safe day and anybody who needs hugs is welcome to mine today.

Lunch today is crumpets and then tea will prob be pizza and garlic bread for kids and not sure what for me cos am on STRICT diet!!
Next week the plan is gym, gym and gym and declutter in between.
Hope everyone has a great day xxJUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0
