Please help!
[Board guides on Online (& offline) Discount Vouchers] are making the experience of moneysavingexpert pure hell. They keep posting the same post about the rules. It is like they have been given limited power and are abusing it to the detriment to all users. Plus, they seem to be competing against each other If I see another quote of the forum rules I will scream. All we want to do is post vouchers and use vouchers. Not be dictated too and edited by ***remarks removed by Board Guide***. Sorry for being rude it is just the frustration of the changing nature of the forum.
Examples are here:

Ask yourself some questions
Who wrote the rules? Whose site is it? Who appointed the Board Guides?
I you don't want to abide by the rules, then you must find other sites for those interests0 -
erm
well I'm not sure you'll like the Board Guiding here either.
I have just edited the post above and changed the thread title
I do not believe it is acceptable to dedicate a thread to criticizing other members by name - Board Guides or not
At first I was going to remove this thread but since it has already been suggested several times that people post on this board if they have any complaints, I'll leave it for now0 -
To the OP, while you picked out posts to illustrate your point you could have used this one by Martin, just yesterday

You're right, board guides do have limited power and also a set of guidelines to follow, part of which is upholding the rules of the site, these rules are not written by us, they are written by Martin the owner of the site, we just make sure they are followed, you agreed to abide by them and if they are not to your taste then the obvious answer is to join a site where you can post your codes/links within the rules.
As Edinburghlass has pointed out Martin is also posting on threads in exactly the same way as the voucher board guides, stating the same site rules, so I really can't see what your complaint is.
A site as large and popular as this must have rules and regs, and people to uphold them and the changing nature of the moderating of the site is down to it's increasing size, board guides for every board and a request that we board guides make sure rules are adhered to at every step.I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Please note that Ambassadors are not moderators. Any posts you spot in breach of the Forum Rules should be reported via the report button, or by emailing forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.All views are my own and not the official line of MoneySavingExpert.0 -
Wow, some folk have a nerve don't they?! I'm no lover of the angry face smilie (in fact I think it should be banned) but if ever there was a perfect time for its use, it's right now.
All we want to do is post vouchers and use vouchers.
Why is it people seem to think they can come along to this site and use it and abuse it as they please with no thought to anything other than what they want to do?
For crying out loud, there are reasons why the rules are there, or did you just think someone got bored one day and decided to make things up just for the fun of it?
If you stick within the rules, then there's no problem, but unless you make it clear that the codes/vouchers do comply with the rules, then you will be asked if they do, as this is part of what the Board Guide's job entails.
Or would you prefer to ask the site owner, i.e. Martin, if he could relax his rules and have a word with the guides so that you're not bothered anymore? Get a grip.
None of the Board Guides are perfect, but everyone does their very best to keep things running smoothly for the users AND to try to abide by Martin's rules. Sometimes the rules we have to follow are clearcut, sometimes there are borderline deciscions to be made and in this instance they will be referred on to the powers that be for advice.
Perhaps it would have been wiser to pm Martin directly to put your points to him instead of taking the easy route of slagging off Board Guides who are only doing their job?Herman - MP for all!0 -
I see that the OP was active on the site until 3.57 am. Whilst mine is not the best reply above, it is noticeable that the OP did not respond.
I have not studied the subject of these vouchers at all, but it is not in the least bit difficult to understand Martin's remarks that Edinburghlass points us to; namely that it should be made clear the provenance and wideness of issue of such vouchers.
If a voucher is issued to one person, ie as a credit note or repeat discount, then the originator may view the presentation of multiple copies as fraudulent. Sorry if this is patronising to the OP, but I have not read the rules in full myself yet am able to understand this.0 -
The rules quite clearly state that when posting voucher codes you must say where the code came and who the intended recipent was. This is to protect both the site and yourselves as posting codes that are not meant for public use is often a breach of the terms and conditions of the voucher.
The board guides are doing the correct thing by ensure that undisclosed vouchers are confirmed as being public. If you have a problem, it is with the rules, not the BG's and I suggest you take it up with abuse team - [Removed by Forum Team]

I take it SHR on your own website/homepage that you don't have a privacy policy on what you do with email address' that you garner from your users?
And when you post your own website on MSE that you declare your interest?0 -

Can I just say at the start how appauled I am with the personal comments you made about me SHR, referring to my age has nothing to do with being a board guide. However I will not go to your level and make a personal comments about you.
I will quote what I have already said and repeat to you time and time again:By registering with the site you agreed to the rules. You could be commiting fraud by using codes which were not intended for you.
If Martin or the team feel that I am not doing my job as a board guide I will happily step aside and leave it for someone else.0
