Talking £5 per month with '3' if an existing customer

My cashback contract ended in October and 'Three' offered me a £5 per month contract for 12 months keeping my existing phone and number.
They also reminded me that my phone had a two year guarantee and as I only had used it for one year it still had a year to run.
I would only get 300 anytime minutes and 150 texts.

Remember to give them one months notice if you intend to leave. It's at that stage that they try an sell you the contract.

My previous contracts over the last three years have been with cashback. These were three annual deals.Whilst I have always received my cashback I have had to chase Simply 3g this year for the last payment.
I must admit that with the Quidco cashback, selling the phone and the returned cashback the phone cost me nothing and I was about £50 in pocket per year.

Reading some reports I opted for the £60 pa deal as I had some concerns over cashback deals this time. Also it does take away some of the hassle.Only £5 comes out of my bank now instead of £35.
You also get to keep your number that you can not do with a new phone and contract.

One problem with cashback is that if one of your bills are lost, the company may not accept a photocopy and Three won't send out a replacement.
This invalidates your claim for cashback at that stage.

I hope that the information I have offered has been of some help. Thanks if you have helped me out.Sorry if I have not agreed with your post.
Mrs.Devere a thankyou will be fine,no kisses please.

I contacted 3 yesterday and the gentleman- from a foreign call centre- was most unhelpful. Didn't know that the retailer had gone into administration, advised me to contact the retailer, didn't seem able to understand that there was nobody left to contact, refused to refer me to someone better able to help me.

I only signed up to my 18m contract last month.

That is incorrect, Three WILL send a replacement if you ask them for one (at least they did for me).

i have tried to reduce my tariff due to pbd administration but they will not budge. I dont think I will stay with 3 after this contract ends in April.

When I nneded a copy of a bill, they wanted to charge me £5 for it. It was only for my records, not for a cashback claim, so I just went without.

When my last cashback contract ran out a few months ago, I looked around, and decided on the £15 a month from 3, with cashback via Quidco, which I have received. Sooo glad I did. Good luck to anybody who needs to speak to 3. I find their service reasonably good in my area and its a good price, but I don't think much of the CS. Having said that, my last 5 contracts have been with 3, and my hubby has been with them for almost 3 years now, and we have only needed to call them about 3 times in all!

Emailed 3, and they called a day later completely unaware that pbd and cnm had gone bust.
I was told that there is no procedure to reduce my tariff and so they could not help.
I pointed out that vodaphone were doing all they could to help their customers out, she was still not interested.

So so far still got to pay the full amount unless things change.

Samba
Thanks for your post.Alot of the companies want original bills and I 'm sure they will riggle out of paying the cashback because of it.'Three' did confirm that they only generate one original bill.
I will be intrested to know otherwise

Ive been told the same - they did give me a reference number, they said they will investigate the matter and get back to me with anything that they could do in this matter.

same story as the rest of you guys. they told me it would take a month to investigate.

i think the reason voda are doing more is because the vast majority (about 70% of the connections through cnm, pbd, etc) were with voda, so many more of their customers have been affected.

Default Three Mix & Match Contract Amendment?

The main article referred to a change in the Ts & Cs for Three's Mix and Match 1100 due to come in to force on 11 December. I'm not aware of this. Does anyone have the details?

isayoldchap, that sounds ideal for me! My contract has ended with 3 now, and I am just rolling on paying the £35 per month. I was originally on a cashback deal which was ok, though I like you would like to save the hassles and just pay the £5 per month - which is the same price I am paying for insurance now! :S

Do you think I will be able to get teh same deal? My current contract is 400mins and 250 txts. Did you call to cancel and then they opted to give you that deal?

Thanks,

Sorry I didn't pick up your post earlier on here
Anyway 11 months into my contract I phoned them nice people at '3' and gave my notice to leave. They promptly offered me the £5 per month deal(back in September this was).
Unsure whether they will be as generous now.Push them.
Never ever change you contract though as this will invalidate your cashback,
but you can tell them what you want to do so tha they know your intentions
IM me for any further information you may require.

That's the same response I got. I was very polite, and told them about the other offers. The best they would offer me was approx £19 a month on the same deal with new phone. I'm happy to stay on the same deal and retain my old phone.

I asked for my PAC code, which was supposed to be sent within 24hrs via text message. Needless to say it's been a week and no PAC - think I'll call and be a bit more stern. This might persuade them to be a bit more negotiable.

....we'll see.

I had got the £5 deal back in Sept consisting of 300m and 100 text a month on a 12 month deal keeping my existing phone(still under guarantee)
Your deal was also offered to me.

If some of you can wait maybe the Christmas/New Year deals could be a little
better.Remember the Cancellations Dept will be enticing you to stay,so your call should be transferred to them. It shouldn't be the sales dept giving you the deal.
