You buy a box, the size of a video box, and was told that all details were inside that box to get it installed.

That's correct but it's any excellent deal, after 6 months you'll be left with all the free channels available on satellite (list on link below). The channels you're left with will be the same available when BBC/ITV's FreeSat starts next year.
If you want satellite without subscription then you've got the choice of this and the minor hassle of scrolling the epg through channels you can't get to watch the 200+ you can, or you can wait till when FreeSat starts next year and buy a FreeSat box which will be more user friendly to those not interested in subscription. I recone when FreeSat starts the box plus installation will initially cost more than £75, I think sky are doing this offer as they are worried about the affect FreeSat will have next year having seen how popular Freeview is.
One other point, what do you recone on the chances that with this offer you get a reconditioned box instead of brand new, alot of people are upgrading to Sky+, ordinary boxes are less popular

Just had a look at the tv listings and I reckon if you've got freeview then you won't be missing out if you pass this offer by. Some of the dross that passes as tv programmes these days is unbelievable.
If you want religion, more qvc and quiz type programmes then go for it. otherwise keep your cash in the bank and wait and see what freesat offers is my advice.Debt free, the best way to be. :A0 -
I agree with the previous poster. 200+ TV channels seems impressive and is more that I get on my Virginmedia package but the Sky deal doesn't include things like UKTV's channels, The History Channel, National Geographic, Discovery,TCM all of which are in my 'Favourites' on Virgin.
I suggest that anyone considering buying into this offer lists which channels they would actually watch. Making 'good' TV programmes is very expensive. IMO most of these are c**p advertisers' vehicles.0 -
Cheap indeed, but, you get what you pay for.
If I was not already a Sky subscriber I would not be going for this offer as it doesn't include any of the channels we watch. (apart from the terrestrial ones)We all evolve - get on with it0
