Are the GE Money and Morgan Stanley Plat Cards still good cards to have or do you think I should be considering changing them now?

I've noticed that they aren't on the best list any more or was there another reason they have been removed?

As far as I am aware, the Morgan Stanley Platinum is no longer available to new customers....

decision on the screen was that I need to wait for 7 days as final credit checks will be done against my name....

cannot believe, have been recently turned down by Amex, have appealled but hasn't heard from them yet...

I've never missed a payment, i.e., excel. credit history....my prob I guess is my current add: 7 months

ah so that's why they have been removed. I'll keep using those then I think their as good as...well not the 4% but that's only for a short time.
  • just cancelled my morgan stanley card, since introduction of £20 annual fee and only getting 0.5 % cash back, would have to spend £4000 just to cover fee. also cash back can only be reclaimed in multipulls of £15.

Just saw on the capital one website that they are doing 4% first 3 months then 1% after.

if you have recently been turned down by someone else then you maybe need to leave a bit of space between applications. Too many applications in a short space of time can be detrimental.

Have you tried doing the smart credit card search on moneysupermarket - the one that estimates your rating - excellent, good, fair etc and advises which card providers lend to what credit scorers? I find it really useful as I know for me there's no point me applying for "excellent" cards when my score is only somewhere between "fair" and "good" - as they will just turn me down.
Indecision is the key to flexibility :)

It's all very well for these companies to offer these high cashbacks but it depends on your income. I have been a Capital One customer for many years and I currently have a card which gives me 1% cashback and I always repay the full amount every month by direct debit. At present I am living off my savings interest and my wife's pension and as such have only a very small income. I applied for the 4% cashback card and was rejected on the basis that my income was insufficient.
