Ulster Bank charges (merged)

Options
I had an account with the ulster bank for about 6 years the charges got so bad that i closed the account and opened with a different bank.
I was left with very little money because there was sooooo many charges and now that i've heard about reclaiming the charged i would like to see some of the money that was takin from me.
I was wondering how do you find out how much you would be owed??
I left ulster bank 2 years ago and don't have any bank statement, is there any way i can ask them for copies or is it to late to claim anything????
Any help would be gratefully appreitated.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

    Goto this site - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/

They will look after you, if you have a look around the forum and read the FAQs etc it should make some sense. A friendly bunch who recommended this site to me. Good luck!

Has anyone had any success with claiming from the Ulster Bank?

I'm currently going through the process - cheque was banked and cleared a week ago, and I haven't heard anything yet. Can anyone give me some advice?

Just received a letter from my bank saying that the charges they have claimed off me are fair. Where do I take this now? Do I submit a small claims online? I live in Northern Ireland, and the Ulster Bank are one that don't like giving out money

I recieved a letter from ulster bank yesterday saying that they will not be giving me my money back and that is their final word on it, so next stage for me is court and i'm terrified. Has many people had to go this far to get their money back? how did you find it all? I'm so worried about it and really don't want to have to go to court but if it is the only way i can get my money back so be it, in total i'm owed £1200. Is it to late to ask for an early settlement as i have sent all letters or am i wasting my time, the bank has been quite hard from the start, when i asked for my statements it took them 4 months to get them out to me and every letter i've recieved from them has said no your not getting the money back. Also every letter i've sent to them i have handwritin and i never kept a copy but just wrote down the dates that i sent my letters plus i know they got them as they always replied, What would i need for court? do i need a solicitor?
Any help or advice would be great.

I used this site (given to me by this site).

I just filled in the online form and they take care of the rest. I put the charge (£50 for me claiming £405) on my credit card - Nationwide 'will' pay this back 'when' I win !!

You don't need a solicitor, just read through the site and it explains everything. There is also threads dedicated to MCOL on here too :)

    Don't worry :)
    Hope this helps
  • The Bank soilictors always delay it in the hope you get scared and cancel! DO NOT PANIC! no bank has ended up in court!

You will either receive a settlement letter offering half of your claim ( DO NOT ACCEPT WAIT SEND REJECTION LETTER ) or offering full amount which is the only amount you should accept this includes fines, interest, and court costs.
