Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 24 jan 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning All.
I really am early today. Can't sleep, got a bit of a jippy stomach I think.
I can't believe it's raining again... We had one cold frosty day and now rain....stupid stuff.
I started decorating my daughters room yesterday, (She wants the same colour in her room as above????) so I will have to continue that today... I will then move on to our office where I am at now. It's looking grubby in here and so I want to freshen that up and get a new carpet. So I shall be busy...
Work at 1300 today. Looking forward to it..... Oh yes. No really, I will tell you tomorrow...:D .
E-bay is going well. I bought a tie in a charity shop for 50p and sold it for over £20. That's good proffit.
Well folks I am here wide awake...no doubt soon to be joined by others.. Have a nice one...

I`m joining you as well. Woke up half an hour ago and just can`t lie in bed these days. At least it isn`t the usual 3 am nonsense. I used to get up earlier than this when my 3 were small and I needed to study for ou and I had to prop my eyes open then but now I`m older I` m wide awake and I don`t need to be. Doh!!!
My mind was whizzy re my sourdough baby
I don`t know what I`m going to be doing today apart from a nice hot mug of tea in a minute
I hope everyone is ok today0 -
Morning all
We have SNOW, we have SNOW !!!!!!!!!! Yipee!!!! :T Not very much, just enough for a vertically-challenged snow man! Kids are still in bed so haven’t seen it yet but I’m expecting great excitement when they do.
Going to go and put out the recycling as this will give me the chance to make the first footprints!:rotfl:
Have the best day ever! It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.0 -
Morning all,
sitting here coughing and spluttering and full of the cold ,but will ignore all the symptoms ,as most women do, and press on with my day .
I have to take DD and mutt to the vets first thing as said mutt is going to have the op. to stop her having little mutts this morning .We have to be there by 08.30. and it's the other side of Maidstone .Not too far really, about ten miles , but Maidstone is the pits to get through during the rush hour . Then back home to get changed, and be at Rochester to pick two other folk up as I'm off to the National Theatre in London for a matinee this afternoon.Virginia Woolf's 'The Waves' beckons for me .Mmm two and a half hours of very heavy theatre ,not a bundle of laughs but part of my Uni course. I am just hoping that the forecast snow holds off until tonight . Not looking forward to the drive home to deepest Kent in the white stuff .The chap on T.V. wouldn't commit himself last night as to how much we will get in North Kent, ,just said it could be a little ,or a lot.
Very helpful, Not .!!!
I wonder sometimes why we have forecasters ,I could just as well hang some seaweed outside the window . Well onwards and upwards folks ,take care everyone.
(((Hugs to those in need ))) and if the worst happens, and I get stuck, and you see a little old lady fuming in a snow drift on the M2 do give me a wave0 -
Hi all
Seen on GMTV some places have had snow overnight. Nothing here though. Yesterday someone at work started a vicious rumour it was snowing which resulted in us rushing to the window to see.....NOTHING
The weather has just came on the telly and the forecast seems to show snow up the south east of Scotland and then round to Edinburgh so I might see some today at work
I always think it's so pretty when it's snowing but then when it starts to melt I want it just to go - don't like slush.
Work again today so not much else on. Had a pants day yesterday so hopefully today will be muchly improved. Just one of those days when customers want to complain about anything and everything
Off now to get food ready for work. Got some tasty bagels in Tesco for half price last week so might take one of them for brekkie.
Bye for now.0 -
Morning Guys!
We have snow in Kent:eek:
Just listening to see if DD's school will be open as its still snowing quite heavily
WM on and DW on, toilet cleaned. OH getting on with the tiling today and I MUST get my essays done:o There is a bit of ironing to do too but that can wait. Hopefully my new cleaner/ironer will be delegated soon as Im getting so knackered trying to keep up with just a small amount.
Making a huge lamb stew and dumplings in the SC today...one of our favs!
Will come back later but need to take some pain meds to keep me going today, not feeling good but on the bright note, I have NO hospital:j :j :j
Hugs to all.

Morning everyone
We've got snow and it's still coming down
not suer what i'm doing today depends on the weather I'm not good on my feet in the snow and I don't like driving in it so I'm just going to see how the day pans out
have a lovely day and keep warm

Morning all! Cold and frosty here; DD is defrosting his car, then he's off to w***. We had a covering of snow yesterday, but it's all but gone now. Off over the wolds today, which will be a nice drive.
BM is on, so a slice of fresh bread and cherry jam with a mug of coffee for breakfast.
Making marmalade when I get in this evening.
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
