:hello: Goooooood Morning fellow OS’ers
Hmm, another unplanned early start to the day! Not sure what is going on with my sleep pattern but I’m not sure I like it.
Taking d12yo to footie practice later this morning, have uniforms to launder and as it’s Twelfth Night will be taking down and boxing up the Christmas Decs. There is a great post over in the Christmas forum about packing away Christmas lights and I’ll be using that tip for packing up ours. In fact, I’ll delegate that to d11yo so he will be well trained in packing lights for the future :rotfl:
Clarins in our local Debenhams are starting a promotion today for the next couple of weeks (nice lady told me this last week when I asked for some free samples – nice little samples too!) and as I need to take the lads to return one of their games in the shopping centre, thought I’d have a nosey in there and see if there are any bargains to be had.
Craftwise, I’m practising my knitting by making knitted dishcloths. It won’t matter if I make mistakes and it’s a good way of practising different patterns. Never have been much of a knitter and I’m not so sure it’s quite my thing, but it gives me a break from the usual crafts and that keeps the old grey matter ticking over :rotfl:
Wishing you all a super money saving Saturday, ((hugs)) for those who need/want them.
TTFN

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 6th January 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Morning Sarah, I've picked up loads of knitting patterns/idea simply through websites - I'm a mag-o-holic so it's very dangerous for me to even think about buying a magazineHave a search of the web, you could save yourself 99p
Aww, sorry to hear your lad is into fits and starts style sleepingHope it settles down soon and you can get a proper nights sleep! It's bad enough when it's only yourself who'd having trouble sleeping, but when you're being kept awake through someone else's sleep patterns being broken, it's even worse ((hugs))

Morning earlybirds! :hello: I'm another of the erratic sleepers, something to do with my age I think
Today we're driving 100 miles to see the in-laws, couldn't get to see them over Christmas because OH was working. As my MIL is the world's most awful cook, we have persuaded them to book a restaurant for lunch, we will treat them as part of their Christmas pressie and to avoid food poisoning  I kid you not.
Am slightly miffed because OH and I were invited to friends for dinner tonight but OH insists we won't have time to go, even though he doesn't enjoy visiting his family and tries to leave as soon as possible after lunch. As I don't have any work Christmas parties or celebrations and like most of us on here, did all the cooking and running around for everyone else over the past two or three weeks, I would have liked to have spent the evening with my friends, but hey ho, I suppose it's not worth having a fallout with the OH over.
DD22 is home for the weekend and will come with us to her Grandma's, as will DS who disappeared off yesterday and has yet to come back. If he doesn't make it back for the Grand Departure, he will be in trouble. :rotfl:
Good luck with the dishcloths, Queenie! My mum taught me how to knit those a million years ago when I was in the Brownies, I used to give them to my grannies for Christmas pressies :rotfl: Knitting is not my strong point so all those holes were perfect for me
Have a good day everyone!

Wow, you guys were up early. I thought I had a rough sleep patern....
Yesterday was an unplanned expedition which turned out just fine. After tackling the junk in the cupboards and drawers, we got a call from the Sis in Law in Penzance who seemed a little down. So I said lets go and visit. So we all got on the train and went down for the rest of the day. The train is cheap here at the moment and even better with a railcard. So it made a nice day out.
It was a great afternoon and we flew kites on mounts bay beach which overlooks St Michaels mount. Great fun flying kites. I recommend you go and get one £3.29 for a stunt kite at Sportsworld.
When we could no longer see we went back to the house where the log burner kept us warm. I then sprung for some great fish and chips, follwed by a trip to the local for a pint.
Last train home and voila. nice day out.
Today is back to the real world with work at 1pm. I have to clean the chickens out this morning and get some food for them. Daughter needs a lift to the station for a train to her saturday job. So a fairly easy going day.
I don't mind going back to work really as I have had 5 days off, had a good new year and found a few sale items. Working helps you stop spending money too.
Well enjoy your day off.
FA CUP day today...Come on Plymouth ArgyleNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
'Morning everyone :hello:
Sorry to hear about the disturbed sleep! When that happens to me I end up falling asleep after lunch
Today is hair cut day. I have short hair and need to have it trimmed on a regular basis to keep it tidy. I've had a 6 week gap (rather than 5) because the salon has been closed over Christmas. I think I will continue to book 6 weekly to see if I can save the cost of a couple of haircuts from the annual budget.
Yesterday OH and I spent the afternoon racking some or our HM wine. We will probably do some more today. I also made a lovely veggie soup from the sad bits of veggie at the bottom of the fridge. It was lovely and there is enough for lunch today too
Have a lovely OS day everyone!Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -

Morning everyone
WM is on, DH has just left the house as he's driving his mother & handicapped brother to North Yorkshire - from Devon! He wants to get back today, so looks like a very long day for him, with his whittering mother to keep him company
That means I've got to take the girls to their dancing lessons in town. I haven't hit the sales yet, so as I *have* to be in town for 3 hours, I might as well have a look
Hope everyone has a good day0 -
