Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 23rd December, 2 days before Christmas 2006. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
I know I'm breaking the rules, and I apologise for that, but I'm not really sorry, because I want to wish catowen a very happy birthday, and I may well not be around later today!!!

Hope you have a lovely day Catherine!!!
I'm sat here with a whisky and dry ginger and I feel quite hospitable to everyone!!!
Have agreed to sons' requests for mass invasion by friends on Boxing Day!! Even heard the words" The more the merrier" exit my mouth!!
:rotfl:
Perhaps I need to get more supplies tomorrow?
Oh well, it'll either be fun or the death of me!!
Hope you all have a good Saturday, and achieve lots!!
CMxx

Ohhhh I've done ALL my shopping so in the morning I'll get my flat all spic&span, then.... well whatever: might read a book, go for a walk..
In the evening, out for a drink at the local with friends. I have made an extra £183 this month, so I shall treat us all to two rounds.Saving money is ok, but we want to live a little, don't we?
Have a good day everyone! :jBe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

Happy Birtthday Catowen! Have a good one
I'm still up wrapping presents. I'm tiiiired, I want to sleep. But after this, I have to pack, so I'll still be awake for a while. We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Morning Churchmouse , Quasar and Blairweech:) and everyone else who follow
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Catowen. Have a lovely day :bdaycake:
I can't sleep. DD has now gone down with the same bug as ds and I assume she has really sore throat as she keeps wincing when she swallows as well as having a hacking cough and a temperature. I keep having to get up to her so thought I might have a pooter on here and check out if any online sales have started yet but can't find any good deals at all so will have to be patient.
Today we have our alternative christmas dinner. We always go off to my parents for christmas so I like to have a special meal for just the four of us before we go. It is turkey and all the trimmings although I don't have too much to do as we keep it fairly simple. Will definitely need a loooong walk after it though.
Dh and I are talking about putting our Aussie move back by 6 months as we could do with saving a bit more and Dh's new job is a 12 month contract. I am a bit disappointed about it as I had set my heart on going in the summer. Heart says go sooner/ head says stay and save a bit more, got myself wound up tonight by looking at houseprices and how expensive they are. Aussielass, I did a google of where you are and wow it is beautiful.
Have a lovely day everyone.0 -
Hello everyone who's posted allready and all that will follow, hope we are well
gingin did you manage to get that cheque business sorted out, the one your daughter accidently torn?
Ive not been to bed yet. Got a mega tension headache, and cant switch off at the moment.
I wanted to have a bath earlier. But whilst we was out, the Gas had run out, and of cause, the water didn't heat up. Token meter's are great, but b*ggers for running out at in-appropiate times. lol
OH just set his alarm, Ive volunteered him to do the last bit of food shopping in the morning.
Going to the crem in the morning, lay some flowers & xmas wreath for my grandparents. It would be my grandad's birthday Xmas day. I miss them both terribly. Xmas is not the same they're not here now. No matter where I was living, I always made sure I was home for Xmas and spent a few hours with them on the big day!
Got plenty of washing to crack on with, and a full clean up in the house, especially in the front room, thats where bunny is currently living. So things have slightly been ignored whilst he's recovering. At least it doesn't smell, Im very concious about "smells"
My Ex dropped the kids off at his usual time 8.30pm, they went to Birmingham for the day to visit their grandparents.
Got some deliveries to make to the family in the day. Kids will be with their dad till sun night. So, once all that is done - I hope to chill out. Suppose to be going out with people from my old work place, but not sure yet what to do!
Anyway, have a great day all - take care & love as usual xxxHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -

LOL yeah Churchmouse. As long as I can save something every month, I don't feel bad about spending what's left, although I always try to get the best deal...Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Morning!!
Firstly Happy Birthday Catowen hope you have a lovely day!!
I'm still up as we have returned from a nice evening with friends. On the way home it seemed a good idea to call in at Asda to finish off our Christmas shop and avoid the obvious rush tomorrow/today. In reality they had sold out of sooo much that I have to return again today anyway
Hopefully will manage with the basket only till & therefore miss the delays.
Is it only me that keeps thinking it's Christmas Eve today
Special thought's to all who are missing someone this Christmas.
Hope that every one has a good day and finds time to chill!
Westy xxNow thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -

well I was feeling quite smug. Did our food shopping on thursday pm, which was nice as tesco were playing Christmas songs and everyone was wondering around singing.
I've bought all my presents, only got a couple left to wrap.
Cleaned the flat last night as we had visitors all i had left to do was visit a friend in hospital but i've been up all night with pain and things on my mind so now I'll be blooming knackered and waste my day of feeling smug.
Never mind, bring on Christmas I'm very excited.
ps this is my first visit to this board and I love the spirit of the daily thread, i'll visit the fence again!0 -
Happy birthday catowen :bdaycake:
well spent yesterday shopping with hubby 4 xmas. :santa2: we only had to buy pressies for each other, but popped into elc and hubby saw a gorgeous pink castle and said i love our daughter so much i really wanna buy this , she ( 3 years old ) saw it in the elc book and has been talking about it loads. so we chose not to buy any presents for each other but spend it on the kids. we had an amazing day. huby was naughty tho , he spolit me rotten. i got nails done , new make up loads of jewellery. had a great day.
:j
then about 6pm our daugther started being sick. ( son has a sick bug on thursday ) and she has been sick nearly every half hour. been on phone to hospital , doctors. ran out of towels, so got loads from my mum and nanny. i slept form 11 till 3 and hubby now asleep. daugther has fallen asleep about hour ago. and i'm ploughing through the mountian of washing , thankgod for tumble driers and radiator. ( and family living close who lent towels) :T . i hate seeing my angel poorly. i feel so useless. ut this is longest she not been sick, so fingers crossed so over worst.
we have family over tomoz, and i am meant to have a day abaking, i have sausage rolls to make , mince pies , chocolate refridator cake , apricot oat bars , fairy cakes and cookies. although i think i might hold off till the evening, incase i have to cancel the day althogther tomoz.
and my neice had her baby yesterday morning.a little boy. looking forward to seeing him , but not untill all is well at home first. don't wanna pass on any bug's.
hope everyone else is having a bit better morning than i am.0
