The daily OS 15th December 06

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for for 15th December. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread
after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone!!

Cant belive no one has started the thread yet!

I hope you are all well and big hugs if not.(((((((((((((()))))))))))))

Plans for today wrapping and baking buns for kids school partys.

Have a lovley day all

'Morning dlb and everyone else who follows :hello:

It's Friday so it means that tonight is the WEEKEND! :D:D:D

Friday is now also our regular weekly shopping night. We found it much quieter going shopping later on a Friday night. I get the basics and then have more time for the farmers market on a Saturday.

I know most people have already done theirs, but this weekend is Christmas decorating weekend. This year we have decided not to have a tree but to go for a walk and get some natural decorations for the house (fir branches, cones etc.). We have been given permission :D I've already dried some orange slices to wire into the decorations.

Have a lovely OS weekend everyone
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

Morning everyone, not been to bed tonight, insomina is back again so going to try and get an early night tonight. Just sat here writing out some cards and wrapping a few presents. Why is it you get the idea to start wrapping, and 2 prezzies down the line you wish you never started

Going to go make DS's lunch box in a minute and get his uniform sorted, I hope it doesnt start raining on the way to school, I am fed up of the rain now

Don't really have any plans for today other than trying to stay awake :o I need to think of something to get for OH for xmas, just bidding on a bike on ebay for my son, then I am all done.

Apple mint, sounds like wonderful decorations you are going to have there, and I bet the smells will be wonderful, my tree is all pink, baby blue and pearls, so it wouldnt look right on my tree.

15 hours till I can go to bed :D

Hope everyone has a good day, and make sure you enjoy the weekend :j

I have now come into my Christmas 'run-up' I have today off and go back to work on Monday. I then work 4 days and have 5 days off, all over Christmas. So it's wind down time....

Today will be nice. I can get a few jobs done and also a hair cut I think. Tonight is the office party, which I am looking forward to.

I also got a Christmas bonus of sorts which will cover the spending I made on the credit card over the past few weeks. So very happy about that. It was not the 10 million that some are getting though, but £1000 goes a long way for the average man:D .

It looks like it will be off to the shops today to finish the shopping, well chuffed..

    Morning all :hello:

I've got the day off work. We've designed a fence (didn't want a standard one lol) for the back garden, my Dad's coming round today to help build it at 7AM  He's used to working early but has forgotten that this isn't a building site and can't use floodlights when it's dark :D

Have to go to the hospital first thing though.

    Hiya everybody,

Well our floorcoverings went down today and I must say I love them, it has absolutly nothing to do with me picking them :D I was a tad worried that they would be ok. I'm including a piccy of downstairs in this post and the next time I post I'll do the carpet upstairs. The walls are just undercoated so not the real colour. The real colour will be cream/off white sort of colour, if I remember rightly.

DH & I came home this arv and had a little nap. Complete !!!!!!ed we were. It's so much cooler today, wish it was like that yesterday. It's the heat that wears you down. Just heard on the radio before it's been the hottest spring on record. Well off to get tea organised.

PP Glad to hear your DD is enjoying camp. Bet you will be counting the days for her return.

Tru What did you open today in your advent calender? :D

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning All :santa2:

Only a half day at school today for the Littlies so this is the last chance I'll have to do 'secret' shopping  Both schools break up at 2pm so I'll have to perform the miracle of being in two places at once.

Seemed to get a lot accomplished yesterday  NZ Christmas card was posted, (some) ironing done, (some) shopping done, dogs well walked and proper tea cooked :D I'll just have to work out what I did right yesterday and try again today.

OH's 'special' meeting at work yesterday started at 2pm and didn't finish until 7.30pm!!!!! The MD was unveiling his ideas for a big restructuring. Phew, I thought OH was going to be let go - even though it would be really difficult as he's a director. That would have put the tin hat on Christmas.

FIL's lady friend is being buried today. OH is going to the funeral as I need to be here for the kids. It's a bad time of year for FIL as both his previous wives also died at Christmas.

I need to make proper run-up-to-Christmas plans today. In fact I'll go do that now. Shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 minutes d'ya think????? :rotfl:

Have a great day everyone. Hugs to all, especially those who have children breaking up today

Ok this is upstairs. The carpet has a pattern on it as well. Probably won't show up as the piccy could be a bit bigger. I suppose I should have made them the next size up. But I think it makes the page go all fat.

Forgot to mention in last post. We had a good day at the cricket. :D

    Good morning everyone,

Just sat here with a cuppa, waiting for my new dishwasher to be delivered!!!!! Ive been given the time slot of between 7 am and 9.30 am which, although good to get it over and done with, means ive been up for a while and have had to arrange for a friend to sit whilst i do the school run this morning, cos you can guarentee thats when they will come!!!!
Have 3 little ones here today, although for one of them its his last day before xmas, so i have his xmas present ready for him to take home tonight. We are also making christmas trees out of their hand prints today, so that should be fun!!!!
Need to make the packed lunches now, and then a quick browse before everyone arrives i think!!!

PP - glad your DD is ok, have a good day out with OH.

Anyone hear from Moggins??? Hope she is ok xx

Hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
