Reading the Mooncup thread - (I've just bought one and am now waiting to try it out!) - I saw washable pads mentioned. I've just googled and found this pattern to make your own, which I think I may have a go at after christmas when I have a little more time.
Hope this is useful to someone, maybe for those who are good at sewing?

This is still a wonderful thread, though, where many ladies have shared web addresses to sites where washable STs may be bought.
Thanks so much to everyone who has contributed to this thread

Hi,
I'm no good at sewing, but I'd love to buy washable pads. Does anyone use them and can recommend which ones to buy? There are so many out there!
Thanks0 -

Hope it helps.0 -
I dont like tampons so a mooncup just wasnt for me. I've been using washable liners for about a year and I absolutely love them. I shopped around buying one or two from each site I'd visit. My absolute favourites come from http://www.angeltots.co.uk/0

Nothing new under the sun. My mother tells me that her mother (born 1892) had no choice but to make and wash her own STs.
Don't think I'd fancy it much.0 -
Put it this way they are much, much softer and therefore more comfortable than disposable ones, you can make them really funky by using colours or patterns, they are much, much cheaper and the biggie is you dont throw them away so they are so much better for the environment. I love them!0

I got mine about 2 years ago from here:
http://www.cuddlebabes.co.uk/
and they're fantastic! Not only have I saved a heck of a lot of money (I reckon I must have spent about £25 a year? So that's £50 so far and a lot of use left in them yet. They cost me about £10 to start off with.).
Yes, I thought they'd be a bit yeuwch to use but I was on a very tight budget at the time. And actually, they're really comfortable, much better than the disposable kind that are always quite plasticky. There's no smell or anything, no extra washing (they just go in with my bath towels when I wash those), no icky sweaty feeling. Win, win all round. To be honest, before I started using them I thought I'd switch back once my cash flow improved, but I have absolutely no desire to now!0 -
Agreed. I'm kinda irregular so no idea when to expect my next but weirdly i'm looking forward to it so I can try a couple of new liners I bought recently.
Also I didnt mention this before but if you get pain during time of the month and cramping I'm willing to bet if you use these it will be reduced and if not stop. I certainly find mine did.0 -
Why dont all women get the 'implant' then you wouldnt need to buy anything!:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin0

Actually i'm considering that but lots of women have issues both medically and otherwise with the implant. I know someone who bled almost constantly till they removed it though she was fine on the injection. The implant isnt for everyone but for some its wonderful0
