Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 12 decmeber 2006.This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Yay, I have started my first ever OS daily thread :j:j:j (watch some meanie has probably already started one

Well I made the mistake of falling asleep early last night, so I was up at 1am and couldnt get back to sleep, gave in and came down.
Got a massive pile of washing sat on the sofa staring at me wanting to be folded, I have shut it up so far, but the sod is getting louder

Got some workmen coming round at about 10 as we are getting a new kitchen fitted and they want to check "things" so got to sort out the kitchen, between the pram, my bike, and the box for bubbas xmas prezzie, it looks a mess in there, but shouldnt take too long to do.
Need to make DS packed lunch, he is mad for healthy food at the moment, so he has been having tuna, sweetcorn and lettuce wraps instead of sandwiches, not as fast to make as normal butties, but he loves them. Need to get a plan together for him actually, I got pulled aside after school afternoon by his teacher, apparently he wouldnt do his work because it was boring, she was very mad, she said if he was thick then she could help, but apparently he is very bright, and isnt bothering to apply himself, he had to spend all dinner time in the class room working, and the rest of the day up in Yr 6 (he is Yr2) So god knows what I can do.
Hope everyone had a good night, and has a good day to follow.
Hugs to all that need the and kisses for everyone because you're fab xxxx
Take care x

Hey hey wanty! One of these days I'll do the tread too
Me up late as usual... tomorrow not starting work until 11, so I'll have a lie in. Will be out and about all day then home to get changed quickly as I'm going out in the evening - nothing special, just a bite and a few drinks with friends.
Oh, the "How to eat with £10 a week" thread has inspired me to make myself a large bean sprout salad - so this evening I ate almost all those I had, so went to soak some more to start another batch.
Have a good day everyone! :wave:Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
I cant decide what to do for tea, I have some steak I got cheap in the fridge, and there are some chicken breasts in the freezer I got reduced down to 62p. :undecidedWork like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

Funny time of night to worry about this. Do the chicken - grill it to save on oil. Cook some vegs to go with it.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

You should know by now I dont like veggies, I am a fruit girlAlthough the kids eat me out of house and home of veg, so I am glad I made the effort to get them on it
I normally put my chicken in a deep frying pan with lots of water and a bit of marge and sometimes garlic, boil it till cooked, drain and then sear it on a high heat, very juicy and moist. I will have it with a few chips and sliced apples or grapes. :drool:Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

Good morning Wanty, Quasar and Mrs mix.
I'm also up early with sore joints so can empathise Mrs Mix. Off to the hospital today so hoping they will review my meds and I get a bit more pain relief. Think I need to go and live somewhere sunny! Off to work tonight and dreading it as I know I'm always worse the next day. I have given notice and will finish working on Tuesday evenings at end of January - can't wait.
Have to write my Christmas cards today, make some fruit bread in bread maker but apart from that there's not much OSing going on today.
Have a good day all.

Good morning Wanty, Quasar, SusieSaver and MrsMix - I couldn't sleep much either, so here I am! I've had my porridge and a cup of coffee, and am feeling far too alert for the middle of the night.
Not sure what I am going to tell you all....just like yesterday life is very uninteresting right now. I suppose the only thing on the horizon is that I am being let go from my job. This is no surprise, it was only a temporary Christmas contract in the first place, but they are seeing fit to have me finish on 22nd Dec. Merry Christmas, and a big ho ho ho to them too!! I heard a rumour that as they are letting all Christmas staff go they have left themselves a bit under-staffed, and that there may be some hours available after the 22nd. I will enquire about that, even if it is only for a couple of weeks. It's a notoriously difficult time of year to get a job, so fingers crossed I can hang onto this one for a little while longer until I get fixed up elsewhere.
SusieSaver & MrsMix, I hope you get some relief from your aching joints. I feel quite sorry for you both and the misery that you are having to put up with.
Bye for now.

Good morning Wanty, Quasar, SusieSaver, MrsMix and SnowyOwl and everyone else to follow .. :hello:
Up at 5.15 and doing some ironing. Now online on OS as a rewardbefore I go to w**K.
Goodness everyone is up and about early!
The £10 a week budget is also inspiring me. I'm doing some using up meals. Last night made a 'hash type meal' with eggs, veggies, beans and left over mash. Tonight it's a nice big HM pizza. OH always makes enough dough to freeze a batch, so I've just pulled some out of the freezer. I have some goats cheese to go on top of the finished 'design'. I've plenty of mushrooms, tomatoes and onions etc ... so it should be really tasty.
Have a lovely OS day everyone :wave:Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Good morning Wanty, Quasar, SusieSaver, MrsMix, SnowyOwl and apple_mint
Up early before 6 as small black cat decided to prance about on the bed demanding in her quiet but persistent voice more food. A little like Little Shop of Horrors - FEED ME - NOW. She doesn't usually do this so up I got and fed her, and also B I G black and white cat who was a little bemused at small cat's assertion for once. He's just gone out now to find his outdoor Stranger Cat friend. Little cat has gone back to bed.
penninewoman's not up yet. She groaned as little black cat climbed back on the bed - just before the alarm went off.
OK. I'll be back but will need to get penninewoman's breakfast underway now the two cats are sorted.
Mustn't forget to get hair cut today if my hairdresser has turned up today.
Have a good Tuesday everyone.
