Morning everyone
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 7th Dec 06. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
My poor windows are being beaten by a lot of rain and wind at the moment, and it has succeeded in keeping me awake for quite a while now. It's such horrible weather we're having - well, I suppose it is winter, so not much of a surprise there then!
It's still very quiet in the life of SnowyOwl - it really is a case of going to w*r* and going home, then do the same tomorrow. Only one thing coming up soon - am going to stay at my friend's house on Friday evening, so that we can drain a bottle or two of red without having to worry about taxis etc. Her two children are cat mad, therefore she has extended the invitation to my two kitties. I'll pack the car with their two beds, feeding/water bowls, feeding mat, litter tray, litter/scoop, and the kitties themselves of course. Now I have a bit of insight what it must be like going away for an night with a baby...so much you have to remember to bring.
Later today, after w*r* I'll busy myself in the kitchen and make something sweet to bring to my friend's house on Friday. I'm thinking of the Weetabix brownies as they seem to be a real hit with so many people. I like getting the chance to bake indulgences like that without them sitting in the fridge calling me...
BargainRzl...many congratulations on your house move. You seem to be getting very well organised very quickly, so well done on that. I hope you enjoy living there.
Big hugs to anybody who needs them...sorry, can't remember what happened in yesterday's thread...but I hope things are going well for everyone.

Last night I booked our summer 2007 holiday. We are off to Gran Canaria for two weeks. We have been before and loved it.
Last Saturday was my work Christmas party _party_ . Must have been a good night as I had to take Monday off work as I was still recovering

Good morning everyone,
((HUGS)) to Kyles DS xxx
I have no energy this morning, but loads to do, so not sure how i will get on!!! Have 2 little ones here, but one is at nursery in the morning so it will be a quiet day. Friend started the toilet yesterday, but didnt get very far, due to the fact the other chap was here servicing the boiler, and as he was in the airing cupboard, it meant other chap couldnt do what he needed to, so he will be doing some more today.
Nearly had the boiler condememed yesterday, which was quite a worry. Aparently when he got here it was pumping out to much CO (i think thats the carbon monoxide!!!!) into the attic, but after aboput 3 hours, he had it sorted so its all ok now. Very scary tho, and im def going to buy a carbon monoxide detector now, just in case.
Still havnt written out my christmas cards, although i did manage to send the one that needs to get to Canada yesterday, so hopefully it will get there in time.
Right, going to finish my uppa and see if i can get moving,
Hope everyone has a lovely day
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning all...
Still not been to bed!! Up all night trying to write this final assignment... It's due in at 4pm today and I still have 700ish words left! I know what I want to say but I can't seem to get it down on paper right IYSWIM! Not very good for an English student.... This is my final one until after Xmas though so will be able to relax a bit this evening without feeling guilty that I should be doing something else...
It's OHs 21st tomorrow so need to pick up a few final bits in town after I've handed the essay in and then banish him to the living room for an hour whilst I wrap and pack it all!! I've made him one of those retro sweet boxes (see Xmas Board if you don't know what I mean!) and I wanted to wait til the last minute so that the sweets were all fresh!! Have been picking up packets over the last month, but need to get my Pick'n'Mix bits today!
No OS has been done in this house for ages and I don't care.... :rotfl:
Will try and catch up on all the news/gossip later, but if anyone wants to summarise the daily OS threads for the last week or so that'd be great
have a good day all... don't let the rain bring you down!!!0 -
Hello everyone,
Had a lovely day with DGS today. Not one tantrum. Made a chicken stew for tea and just put in some dumplings. I also did a pineapple & coconut cobbler and HM custard. The custard recipe is from here and it's the best one I've ever tried. So quick and easy I haven't gone back to the stove top one since trying it.
Overcast here and not that hot. Well better get going and will catch up once DGS is in bed. Sorry to hear DS1 not coping atm Kyle. I hope you get on top of it. Poor mite. Have a great Thursday. ByeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
