Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 06/12/06. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone

Morning Mrs Mix and everyone else who follows.
Have to go into w**k a bit earlier today so up bright and early. Last night I batch made some tomato soup and OH started another batch of home made wine. Tonight I'll be making some ice cream. Freezer is pretty full but a keep on squeezing a bit more in there :rotfl:
Have a lovely OS day everyone!Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning all. Like the avatar Mrs Mix
I fancy a sprig of holly on my cottage loaf, but it took me the best part of a day to produce that avatar so I don't think that'll be happening anytime soon:rolleyes:
Not much planned for today, a bit of shopping. DS1 has decided he wants to send cards to everyone in his form. Last year he didn't send any so I haven't bought him any this year. Think I'll go to the library, I'm in need of a good book - anyone got any recommendations ?:)
Breakfast - porridge and toast
Lunch- kids-bread and cheese, fruit in jelly and flapjack
OH - bean and feta salad and bread, fruit
Me - leftover Chinese prawns and peas wrapped up in a tortilla
Supper - beef and bean stew with parsnip and potato mash
Duke pudding (wartime recipe)
Have a good day OSers0 -

Morning all! Had a lovely lunch with friends from w*** yesterday. There was so much, that I had a mandarin for tea last night and I'm still not hungry!!
Made some welshcakes and they are browning nicely on my llechwen - the smell should be enough to get the children out of bed.
I now have 6 days off, so I'm starting on Moggins's Chrimbo Flylady Challenge. After Flying for a good few months now, nothing major needs doing, but I find the chat on that thread good to help me keep going.
See you all later, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Good morning everyone,
Quiet here this morning!!!!
Thriftlady - i feel the same about my avy, have no idea how i managed to get the one i have up here (was trying a different pic) so now i have one, its staying!!!!
Well, only plans today is to go to Mr Ts and do my big christmas shop, although wont be that big as i bought the wine at the weekend, as they didnt know how long their 25% off 6 bottles was going to last. I am going to be really good and take a shopping list with me, and the plan is to stick to it!!!!
Not sure when we will be going tho, as someone is coming to service my boiler (part of my grant that put in my cavity wall and loft insulation last year) they are ringing between 8 and 9 to tell me what sort of time they are coming.
I only have 1 little one here today, and depending on what time the chap is coming for the boiler, depends on what we will be doing. If its later, we will be making cakes, if earlier im not sure!!!!
Little ones dad was poorly yesterday, so didnt start my toilet, but maybe today??
Right, off to get my 2 up, and to make their packed lunches,
Hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Morning All,
Belated Birthday Wishes to Queenie, I hope you had a lovely day.
Lovely to see you back TOOTLES!!!! Hope you're well and happy.
Well, since the bazaar finished my body seems to have gone into hibernation. I am SSSSSOOOOO tired its unreal, comes from working so hard the last few weeks I think. DD1 has been off school yesterday and will be off again today as she has the bug thats doing the rounds and her temp hasnt been below 102.
Today I have DS at preschool so I think I might take the girls to the garden centre to see if we can get our xmas tree. They've been advertising a 5 ft pine for £19.99 with the stand worth £9.99 thrown in for free. Its much cheaper than the stall we had at the bazaar so I'm glad I never had time to order it there.
I seem to be having pins and needles in my hands and feet at the mo, very weird. Might be a reaction to my meds I think so I'll toddle off to the docs one day this week to check it out.
Housework has gone to pot so need to crack on, the fridge door is covered in yogurt handprints (thanks DD2), the cupboard doors are looking grubby and I cant remember the last time I mopped the floor. Add to that the washing that needs doing and freezer that BADLY needs sorting before mums arrival in 2 weeks.............I'm gonna have my hands full.
Off now for a quick browse and a coffee,
Have a super day guys and gals,

Hello everybody,
Your avatar is lovely Mrs Mix. Thriftlady I never knew your avatar was bread. I thought it was mozzarella cheese. Oh well, now I know.
Got the curtains for the back sliding door. Decided not to go for a vertical blind. Long story, but they match lovely with the other curtains I bought from Ebay. The others are are a plain coffee/choc colour while these are a stripy pattern with that colour running through them. When it's all done I plan on taking photo's so you will see what I mean.
DGS coming tomorrow so will have a granny day. I also bought some xmas cards so will get them written out tonight to send in the morning.
Tired mum Maybe the new job will be better next week. It does take a few weeks to settle in. But if you loathe it then leave. Depends on how much you rely on that income.
Have a great day one and all. ByeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
