Farewell to micheleen

Sad to post the news that micheleen, affectionately known to many of us as mich, has passed away following long and ongoing health problems.

mich was a great friend to MSE users and in particular the many readers and posters on the Alcohol Self Help thread. The help and advice mich gave to many people was immeasurable and along with his many funny quips, means he will be sadly missed on MSE.

I'm sure many of us will have own own personal, fond thoughts of how he has supported each and every one of us and perhaps you would like to post your memories of mich.

mich was one of the instumental members of the Alcohol thread, he helped so many people on there, in so many ways. I honestly cannot tell you of all the people he helped, as he never boasted about it, but if someone needed something he was always there.

He was a good man and I luckily counted myself his friend. I will miss you mich.

Although I'm fortunate not to have personal need of the Alcohol thread, I often have a read and am always impressed by the level of support to be found among the various contributors.

Micheleen, you have always stood out as a pillar of this small community and we did exchange many a PM in which your caring and your sense of humour never failed to add something positive to my day. I shall miss you old friend, and miss you sorely.

    Goodbye Mich.

Mich, just a few words to say,
we only had but one day,
    nevertheless virtual or real,
    the friendship made a seal.

    So goodbye my friend,
    memories will never end,
it was good to know you,
hope you enjoyed it too ;)

i dont know what the protocol is, as ive never been a part of a forum (to the best of my knowledge) where someone has died.

will anyone be attending the funeral/sending a floral tribute/making chairty donation in his name/passing MSE condolences onto micheleens family? im sure they would appreciate knowing just how he touched the lives of members here
