Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 1st November. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Well i'm up late.. again! Just done the washing up, its OH's birthday tomorrow (or today, depending on your perspective! its on 1st Nov anyway) so i'm doing a special meal tonight - steak, that's just been briefly shown the grill pan (and i do mean briefly.. still mooing kinda thing) served with roasted new potatoes (i slice them - bout half a centimetre thick - put into a bowl, microwave them for 5 mins, then stir through some carribbean seasoning, salt and pepper and vegetable oil (i used to use the spray oils but i ran out) and spread on a baking sheet and whack into a hot oven - GM7 for 45 mins) and peas i think. I might (if i can) make him a birthday cake tomorrow, although he'd probably rather have the apple pie from the freezer. We'll see.
spent time today making xmas cards - got 5 done, all very professional looking, even if i do say so myself! found (finally) some boiled sweets to make some nice cookies with - cut the cookies out, then make more (smaller) holes in the cookie, then crush up a boiled sweet and sprinkle the grains in the space left and bake. You wind up with something like a stained glass window, if you do it right! (rather like this, but more christmassy.. done a quick google and there seem to be lots of variations out there but here's one for an example.)
anyway, i've got a christmas cake to make in the morning for sure, and some bread, and a OH to spoil rotten all day.. so i'm off to bed to get some sleep!
hope everyone has a good day...

:hello: Mooooooorrrrning!
Hiya, kethry, hope all your plans for dh's birthday are successful
It's back to school today, so I'll be waking the little cherubs in another 20mins. Hope they've slept well, the wind last night certainly gave me a few wakey-wakey moments.
Making a meal to take over to friends after school tonight, they've been away and it will be lovely to catch up with them.
General tidy round today and a trip to the Post Office, need to fill up with petrol too.
Forecast is for sunshines but windy = perfect drying weather
Wishing you all a very good day and ((hugs)) for those who need/want them.

Morning everyone
Another work day so not much else doing.
As it's the start of a new month I like to do my monthly planner. I have a week off work in a couple of weeks so want to plan those days wisely
Last night when I got home I noticed a big sign on our street saying "road closed from Monday for 1 week". Now it's not clear whether it is our street or the street it runs on to. Either way I think it could seriously disturb me in the morning when trying to leave
Time to go
Have a good day folks0 -
Morning everyone:D
Not been on for a few days, been so busy what with one thing and another, well hopefully we will be finally moving after many months of being uphappy here so keep everything crossed;) Put the exchange papers in yesterday now it's just a matter of time and lots of nail biting, the place we hopefully will be going to has a huge kitchen approx 20 odd foot:eek:  I am used to a tiny kitchen with hardly any work space so I can't wait, the thing I am looking forward to most will be having a dining table:T
I will be slowly eating the freezer down from now on so no doubt some unusual dinners will be coming out of it:D
Phhhheeewwww.....dog has terrible wind today:o
I hope everyone is well??
CATOWEN - what a result for you on Saturday with the footie:T
Best shake a leg I feel a burst of energy is looming better make the most of it:rotfl:0 -

Gooooooood Morning I'm trying to sound bright and breezy, I was up at six finishing my marking. Now off to do Puppy duty and feed everyone. Cat, Dog, OH, Me.
Today's lunch is leftover mystery stew, (defrosted last night for eve meal, tastes good but have forgotten completely what the meat was.)A solitary dumpling (We ate his friends last night.) and mashed swede.
I must be hungry, I don't usually write about left overs with such interest.
Off for porridge now.
Good morning all.
kethry The birthday meal sounds great, right up my OHs street too.
ageandjo Ooh, sounds exciting, are you moving far (from the sea that is)?
skystar sometimes it means a lot more peace and quiet, as long as you have reasonable access that is..
Love to everyone

Morning, I have embarsingly started a new thread, for some reason couldnt see this one
I too am due to exchang contracts tomorrow, please keep your fingers crossed for me. Agendjo, i will pray for you too, funny am looking forward to my bigger new kitchen too, if it had an AGA I would be even more pleased, alas it has not (mind you they cost a fortune to run)
Keep dreaming of my new home and staring at the farrow and ball colour chart!
Busy day ahead today, lots of work to do, plus fit in a bit of a workout, then off to pick up a nice old fashionned shelia maid from a fellow freecycler, to go in my new kitchen.
Big hugglies to all those that need them, have a good day everyone.
