Ordered a run from this company for my guinea pigs a few weeks ago. It didn't arrive when it should, loads of excuses from the seller. I got this email this am:
'Due to unforeseen circumstances our business run-rabbit-runs is in the process of going bankrupt we have tried to do everything we possibly can to sort this but it has just esculated with a company who we supply has gone bust on us. Now i know we could just walk away from this but i dont want to do that as i want to do the right thing so if you go through paypal you will get a refund im very sorry for this.'
Clearly the guy knew they were never going to fulfill the order and took my £90 knowing this. I have opened a paypal dispute and gone straight to escalation as frankly I don't believe a word this guy says now.
First it was a named day for delivery, took it off work - no delivery. Then no answer to emails, followed by more excuses and the promise of delivery this week and then the above email.
Big sigh, not a good start to the new week

Sorry just to ask, am i likely to get a full refund? It wasn't an ebay sale you see so not sure if the same rules apply, ie with full refunds being given and the sellers account then in the negative. I purchased through their website with paypal.0

you can find if he is declared bankrupt here
http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/eiir/
if he is then you will have to put a claim to his offficial receiver to get your money back but don't hold your breath as wellas mentining his behaviour toward taking payment and not making delivery.
if he hasn't then i guess you will have to pursue the claim through the court.
good luckBSC number 1830 -
You will only receive a refund if the seller has funds in his account, if he hasn't paypal might chase him for it but they wont refund you until they have got it.
It seems like your not the only one who's had problems with him

Telling people who won raffles that he has sold the business
The whois doesn't look good either, only a PO Box address and only been going for 7 months, smells a bit fishy to me.

thanks for all your replies, having read the guinea pigforum posts I don;t know what to believe as in his dealings with people over there he has given every excuse under the sun ranging from the business already being sold to his partner dying.
Anyway, having looked up he is not bankrupt yet, although there is a stephen bernard tindall on an iva a few years ago, don't know if its the same guy. I'm not sure he is going bankrupt, I wonder if he is just cutting his losses and doing a runner.
I'll await the outcome from paypal then its off to the small claims. £90 is not an ammount I can afford to lose :mad:0 -

other forums have been scammed by him, and he continues to advertise on free ads too.

This has been going on since January with few of the forum admin being very helpful to those who have been scammed, which is understandable. There is very little that can be done through forums, but I think it would be good for those people who have been affected to be able to contact each other and see the scale of the scam. The sign of a wasted life is a tidy house, Welcome to the chaos!0 -
oh lord its gets worse, i feel like such a fool. I only purchased again as i have bought from the site before with no issues.
Am going to ring paypal tonight and see if I can find out whats going on. I think he has only sent that bankruptcy email to me, which suggests to me its another excuse, although its a general one, its only come to my email address.0 -
A lot of those ads were placed within the last week, which makes me even more suspicious.
I'm going to register on the other forums and see what other probs people have had0 -
No others have go the same email too
As I said the forums are brushing it under the carpet. I wonder if you can get a group on face book going so you can have contact with the other people who have been scammed.
I have been contected by three people and know there are more who paid £1.50 to the raffle, not of which has been refunded and the rescues whave not recieved their money eitherThe sign of a wasted life is a tidy house, Welcome to the chaos!0 -
Cracking idea about facebook,
I particularly can't abide the fact
that he's been scamming rescue
centres aswell0 -
Its really bad this, I really hope you get somewhere with your claim:(
Im on the guinea pig/rabbit forums but all Ive sent him was £3 for 2 raffle tickets - and I won some alfalfa hay but of course never got it. I was writing my £3 off and thinking I must be careful in the future but what gets me is him posting about his wife having cancer - now wondering if that is true - I hope she is not ill but cancer is not something to lie about or use to get sympathy/funds. I had pm,d him to say I hope she was better soon and that things went ok did not get a reply.
Equally Im very angry on the behalf of people who have paid out money and not got what you paid for and have now got all this hassle/stress to deal with, so wrong. Also feel angry if he has connned rescues or deprived them of promised donations.
Hope things go ok.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.
