We're about to start reviewing our detailed guide to Cashback Sites (also see the Cashback Maximiser tool). While the amount they payout is important, so is the payout reliability - do you actually get your money?

Regular users please answer the poll[/title]

Therefore we'd like those who use the sites on a reasonably regular basis to help feedback a poll on payout reliability and enter a discussion on any other issues surrounding the sites.
This thread is to discuss
RPOINTS FEEDBACK
Please vote in the poll above and give your feedback in the discussion thread.

Important - this is only about the last year[/title]

While in the past there were substantial problems with cashback sites, the big players have made attempts to improve reliability over the last year.
Therefore it's important the feedback sticks to current performance, not issues that happened more than a year ago.

Rpoints can't really compete with the likes of Quidco or Topcashback, since they retain a fair chunk of the merchant payment. I have only used them when they had a unique offer, but nowadays don't even check there.
Friends of mine had ongoing issues with large cashback amounts (from Corals) - for some reason many high-paying cashback transactions had to be pursued via claims. They did get their money eventually, but seeing that similar transactions tracked flawlessly with Quidco and Topcashback, the mind boggles a bit.0 -
I regularly use RPoints for big and small transactions and until recently have never had issues with either missed transactions or payment of the cashback both on large and small cashback amounts. Over the last few months though I have been waiting quite some time for cashback on two larger sums; £20 and £50. It has taken 6 months for the £50 transaction, which was a manual claim, to be settled and I'm still waiting after 4 months on the £20 cashback claim. Given the climate it has made me feel uneasy about their stability as a cashback site although I have previously been a very happy customer.0

Rpoints have a highest cashback promise, so as long as they have that particular merchant on the site, you give them a link to the Quidco/other site offer, and they match it. I've always felt they were more reliable, so would rather go through them and then put in a hcp claim to get them to match the other sites. I don't remember ever losing out on any of my big cashbacks, you can even do a hcp claim now even if you had to do a claim for a missing amount.0 -
I agree with Random. I also use Rpoints in preference to other casback sites, and use the Highest Casback Promise.
The site also has a forum, which can be usefu.0 -
My 2p worth is that Rpoints was far and away the leader in Cashback sites awhile ago but now seems to be lagging behind a little bit plus people seem to have deserted the forums compared to a year ago or so.
For example I always used to go to Rpoints and see some fantastic posts from people with great deals on phones, electricals etc (similar to on here) but now HotUKDeals is the place I go as it seems more people are using this.
I still like Rpoints but even myself have started using other sites. I think Rpoints need to get people back on board by perhaps offering some new offers/features etc, get that traffic back from the competitors0 -
agree with wackojackouk, Rpoints has lost the leadership position it once had. May be the owner cba any longer since he must by now have made a small fortune from all the retained money.
I used to frequent two particular Rpoints forums on a very regular basis (i.e. more or less "lived" on there on a daily basis). Both these forums are still there but have no use any longer since the knowledgeable people have deserted Rpoints for other forums.
As to the HCP mentioned by random - yes, they offer that. But 1) it's no use if you don't have evidence of your transactions (as happened to my friends with the Corals transactions), and 2) if another cashback site pays 100% automatically, why go through the effort and admin of claiming it? And 3), I consider it some sort of an insult if they only give you what they can give you if you make a special effort and file a HCP claim!0 -
Quidco works out better value for the transaction s I generally put through, though.0

The only issue I have with Rpoints is the lack of replies to queries. Queries that mean I don't get my cashback. Totally ignored me on more than one occasion.0

I have used Rpoints in the past but now I use TopCashback. I know I can get Rpoints to match the cashback, but can't be bothered when I can simply use TopCashBack. The only advantage I see with Rpoints is that you can create a URL link that you can send in an email, embed on your blog, etc., that other people (who don't have accounts) can click to buy a product and you get all the cashback. With Rpoints this is a direct forwarding link, the user doesn't even know they are going through Rpoints when they click on it.0

Quite right, I use the HCP on Rpoints which means I always get the best payout and I have had a couple of times when rpoints have not been paid and yet they still paid me (even with hcp claimed!)
I have also seen deals where people have used quidco end and not been paid but I got my money as I used HCP to match quidco via rpoints.
How can they be beaten with A1 tracking and matching all other cash back sites with their HCP?.0
