Hello everyone
. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Morning Budgeteers,
Another not so sunny morning here is Glasvegas. I was green for last week (:j:j:j first time in ages).
So far the weekend has not been bad. I got a bargainous handbag and shoes from New Look for £24 (including a whopping 20% student discount) but this is coming out of the clothes budget.
I woke up with a fright in the middle of the night scared that OH was a vampire, this what I get for reading I am Legend before going to sleep:rotfl: It is ok he is not a vampire I checked his teeth.:D
I have £10 left from my weekend budget and so my challenge budget is £30 this week. Hopefully I will not fritter it away like last week and have something to show for it. I have no nights out etc. planned so shouldn't be that hard.Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Hi PP!
I wandered away from this challenge but I'm back with a vengeance! I dreamt I won a DS last night, hopefully that one comes true!
I'm beyond skint at the moment and would like to aim for £3.86 as that's all that's in my purse. I have nothing to spend on that isn't budgeted for already under either groceries or entertainment budgets, so £3.86 it is...
Are we still purple if we get a NSW?0 -

Indeed the fabulous prize of shiney purple is still there. Are you game for this week? I know you are a purple fan.
£3.86 you are a true budgeteer. I don't think I could manage that but then needs must and all.
I have a DS must say I was excited when I bought it but now hardly ever use it. I should really think about selling it. Do you think it is worth going to one of those games shops or trying to flog it on Flea-bay?Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

I had pretty much a NSW last week so I think I can do it. I'm trying to have a Blitz spirit about the whole sorry affair. I'm just grateful that thanks to MSE I have a good budget and enough money to pay my minimum payments and put food on the table
DS-wise....I think you need to check it out for yourself. Is it boxed etc? It would go well on Ebay before Xmas in that case, but the Ebay board on here is full of horror stories of buyers putting in claims etc. If it were me, I would try and flog it on Gumtree or ask in Game etc how much it would be worth on trade-in.

Hello, please count me in, starting on a new program of budgetting better and looking for motivation.
I pledge £30 for this week. I am aiming ultimately to half this but do not want to start with a target too tight and abandon after the 1st week.

I haven't done this for ages but I realised this week that I need to get my incidental spending back in control - specially as it's a 5 week month and I'm nearly spent out!!! So £10 for me this week please.
Good luck everyone.

Right,
I am going to succeed this week.. I am going to succeed this week..:rotfl:
This is going to be my mantra for the rest of the week as I am so determined to succeed. I can manage the other challenges ok but not this one.. why???
Have increased my budget to £30 to take into account my night out with some uni mates so hopefully will stay within budget.

This is going to be be my mantra too brokemedic! I've been red  for the last few weeks and am determined to get my spending under control. I've come to the conclusion I spend money when I'm bored so I'm going to fill my time with activities (inc. housework if necessary:eek::rotfl:) and not leave myself anytime to fritter money away.

Honestly don't beat yourself up about it, it does take some getting used to. Fingers crossed you will make it this week. For me I just realised it was the small every day over spends that were getting me in trouble not the big things.Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30
