Hi
I've searched and can't find a thread for April 2010 brides and grooms which seems unfair so I am starting one!
How is everyone getting on? What is everyone's date? I'm April 17th, getting married in a registry office in Bristol, then going on a boat tour of the harbour and finishing up having a meal at Goldbrick House. Around 40 guests so nice and intimate
Have paid all deposits and bought my dress and my bridesmaid's dress - only having one.
What's everyone elses progress?
xx

April 17th as well! In Cambridge, about 60 guests.
Progress pretty good so far - have insurance, chapel, reception venue (deposited!), my suit, her dress (not seen it!). Meeting choir, organist, caterers and florists next month. No bridesmaids, so no expense there. My spreadsheet tells me we've come in under budget on every item to date
Not even remotely stressed so far... starting to wonder if we've forgotten something!0 -
Oh, I forgot, we've booked the photographer too. Yay us!0

Hello guys, you've made so much progress already... good job!
I'm getting married April 2010 in the states so still doing my research.
Loose cannon, can you give me an idea of what your spread sheet is like? Did you get it from somewhere? otherwise may I ask if you can forward it to me, ofcourse without your figures? I'l PM you my email addy?
Thank you.0 -

Yay! :j
Getting hitched to my latino-italian hot pepper in Liverpool on April 17th as well! Two weeks into my A+E rotation, what was I thinking...
Anyway, we have church, reception booked + deposit +catering, photographer deposit, verbal confirmation from DJ, given notice at the register office + booked our registrar to come to the church, my dress, our rings, insurance. Cake, car, tembleques (latin american head decorations) and invitations in progress. Family and friends flying in from all over the world - should be fun!Married Ajichombo on 17th April 2010 :j0 -
Oooh, can I join?
Getting married April 14th in Positano, Italy. Original intention was to go off by ourselves then come back and have a party, but my elder sister and daughter had other ideas, so they are now meeting us there with their other halves (we are riding our 1959 & 1961 Vespa's there).
Have found a wedding planner who is sorting out:
All the legals and paperwork - we have a list of things to copy/send
Booking the town hall - done :j
Music for the ceremony - done :j
Interpreter - done :j
Flowers - meeting florist when we get there, but will take pictures of flowers/styles I like
Hairdresser - done (have a consultation and practise run booked before the wedding and then hair doing on day - again, will have pics of styles I like)
Photographer
Restaurant - awaiting menus
Also booked a villa which we will share with sister, daughter etc
We will have a reception for family and friends when we come back to keep everyone else happy - have picked the venue and provisionally booked our dj
Seen my dress (Josephine), but refuse to pay nearly £3000 for it, so looking for a dressmaker or something very similar (and cheaper)
That's about as far as we have gotten, but everything seems to be falling into place nicely0 -
Hi,
Getting married, 9th April approx 40 guests for the registry office and about 60 on the evening. So far, booked the registry office, photographer and village hall. Bought some decorations for tarting-up village hall too. Also, bought my dress and shoes. I still need to confirm catering and DJ, but this is in hand (although I want these confirmed by the end of October for my own sanity). Flowers and Cake are being done by friends, so giving them ideas and leaving them to it. Going to speak to my hairdresser about simple styles I can do myself and I'm going to have some make-up trials in department stores and do my own. Save the Date cards have been sent and going to send out the invites at Christmas. Bought Groom and Best-man's ties and waistcoats from Next. Started a small stock-pile of booze, which we'll add to when the offers start coming in a Christmas.
Can't think of anything else at the minute
I think that's about it0 -
:j yey a whole thread for us
we're 3rd April, Easter Saturday. Can't bewlieve how popular 17th is.
We've sorted church, reception, photographer, flowers and I have my dress...........urmm.............urrmm.........no can't think of anything else, think I'd better get a move on judging by what everyone has done so far.
I'm really struggling actually as to what order I should be doing things in? It just seems really quiet at the minute, but I know the mad rush will comeDMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 315Married 03/04/2010with many thanks to MSE Wedding boardLO 23/03/12 Special thanks to TTC thread0 -
Hello all, my lovely partner & I are having our Civil Partnership on 3rd April 2010! (we liked it being a Bank Holiday weekend) We've booked the venue & paid deposit - found the lovely venue from reading a thread on here! Booked the Registrar & paid to register. Booked photographer & paid deposit. Booked 3 log cabins on site for 15 of us to stay the whole weekend! (deposit paid). Bought my outfit (Cream floaty trouser suit). Bought my Purple "oh my godness look at those shoes" Shoes! Bought my partners shoes. Made 2 tiaras for flower girls (4 more to make!) Made square embelishments for invites, embossed the front of the invites, still need to cut card & ribbon & assemble! Made about 60 felt flowers, to make wrist corsages for the two of us & the flower girls. Bought 100 muffin cases, bought 100 mini chuppa-chup lollys & approx 40 face cloths, need 45 more! To make flannel cake favours! Bought the ballon kits (3 for each table & an archway) & helium. Bought 2 rolls of Organza - need to make in to table runners. Made necklaces for flower girls & thong with pendent on for mini-ushers (our nephews!) Bought flower girl dresses (£6 each in primark) but not sure they're all going to fit next April, a couple of our nieces are quickly turning into teenagers - so may be looking again when the christmas party dresses go on sale! Have bought the boys Navy trousers. Have chosen the music to walk in/out/sign register to. Made our website through wedding path. Wow! Feel pretty organised now I've written all that down! Still to do;Choose menu - doing in the new year. Order our Cheese wedding cake! Doing in Feb. Partner needs to see dressmaker to get her top made & find some trousers/have those made! Choose rings/have them designed & made. Book DJ for evening. Finish invites. Buy shirts for boys. Decide on readings. Make favours (not doing until near date as we haven't enough space!) AND pay for everything!! ;)Have been trying to get as organised as possible as we start getting busy towards Christmas & GF birthday is mid-January & I think then the time will just fly by!
