Co-op Cashminder Visa Debit Card

Good news, I think. I have just spoken with the Co-op regarding the proposed changes to the Electron card. I was told that all account holders will be automatically issued with a new Visa Debit card. This includes existing account holders, who have the Electron card. I was told that the new cards will be issued in June. Hope that this proves to be the case.

My main problem has been that it can't be used at 'pay at the pump', which has proved problematic, on occasion, when I've needed petrol late at night. Other posters have also suggested that it's not as widely accepted on the internet, includingTesco, I think. I will miss it for using with Ryanair, however, as it's the only card, which does not incur a booking fee. I did wonder whether the Co-op would allow us to use both, although I imagine that this is unlikely.0

I was trying to book some accommodation a while back for a trip to the US and the website said it only accepted credit cards, so i ran my visa debit card through as a mastercard and that went through fine too. At least for holding a reservation. I never tried to pay in full with that card, i used cash on arrival but i thought it was worth mentioning.
Oh and this was a work trip. Its been a while since i had a fancy foreign holdiay. Sigh...0 -

Thanks for the update. The Electron and I have grown rather close of late, I shall miss it0

It will be good i must admit i love pay at pump but cant do it because the electron does not work. I did think it was strange that if the system was a pain to run that co-op would be running it for years to because people cards were not out of date yet so i hope you are right.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:
