Update 6 Jan 2009: The £9 rooms have all sold out but there are scores of £19 rooms nationwide.
What's the deal?
From Tues am 30 Dec budget hotel chain Travelodge is offering thousands of £9 saver rooms for stays booked 21 days in advance between 5 May and 6 September.
Even popular places such as London, Edinburgh, Blackpool and the coast have availability, so if you fancy a quick break away in the UK, it's worth a gander.
What are Travelodge rooms like?
They're clean, functional and do the job. This is around the fouteenth travelodge deal that MoneySavers have jammed in and there's usually extremely good feedback from those who've taken part, though there are some concerns it has a deliberate 'overbooking' policy, but most MoneySavers don't report problems.
Is this any good?
While you can generally find a £19 room somewhere, (though not usually where you want to stay) the £9 room sales are less common so it's worth trying to grab one while you can.
Travelodge tends to release the £9 rooms in tranches and then leave them there until it sells out. The point of highlighting this sale is it's just released a massive batch with widespread availability.
How to book one
The £9 rooms will be on sale from Tues 30 Dec so use Travelodge's room search to find a hotel and date available. Be aware, these rooms must be paid for in advance, are non-refundable and you must book at least 21 days before arrival.
If you're lucky enough to nab a room in a popular location (i.e. cities or picturesque areas), please post the details below so other MoneySavers can benefit too.
Bag extra cashback
If you use cashback websites you can even get cashback on these; see the Top Cashback Sites guide.

We booked a couple of months ago (the last time they went on sale) and stayed in Cambridge just before Xmas when visiting family. Can highly recommend it - cost us £54 for 3 nights (2 rooms) and we were lucky with breakfast too (not all Travelodge offer brekkie though !) - £7.50 for adults but kids (15 and under) eat free so worked out a £3 each for brekkie. All in all just over £6 per person, per night including breakfast !
A word of warning though, they did go on sale early last time so watch out for that - I booked mine just after midnight
Hope everyone who wants rooms manages to get them xx

We just had the in-laws stay for a few days; we booked it in our name and didn't have a problem. I think it allows you have book in one name and give a different name for the guests though.
One slight hiccup we had was that we wanted to change the dates by one day; I went to the hotel and asked if I could have the same rate, and the receptionist said it was £70/night but I could try ringing the national number - I then tried the national number and they said no but I could try contacting the hotel...
Had a great deal the last time, got a family room for 2 nights in Edinburgh followed by 2 nights in Inverness, all for £36! (4x£9)--Early March.
Got the coach from Edinburgh to Inverness for £1 each with megabus, that works out £4 in total, (There and back= £4).
So that £40....
Now only need to book the train from Newcastle to Edinburgh, which is about £16 each.
Look like i have booked my mam;'s birthday pressie for about £70 all in for two...that includes 4 nights at Travelodges and train travel and coach travel return to Newcastle!
Has anyone stayed at any of the 3 main Blackpool central ones please? Just wondered what locarion is like to Tower/Trams etc as will be travelling with 2 small children and dont want to walk too far or spend a fortune on parking/taxis etc.
Also what is the parking situation at the Travelodge itself as most for Blackpool say they charge and only limited spaces???

Hope someone can help.
Thanks.
The Blackpool Central one is at Talbot square which is dead central, very close to the Tower and North pier, has a tram stop right outside. The Blackpool South Promenade is at the opposite end of Blackpool, close to the South pier and the Pleasure beach. All three are new hotels so I've not stayed at any of them, but I doubt there will be parking at these.
Ny suggestions as to which would be the best London ones? Am hoping to be up early to get these!
Don't worry too much about central London location! Use oyster card and London is your lobster! Having said that Covent garden is so handy for the West End and I like Aldgate East for the proximity to Brick Lane and Petticoat Lane.
