What do you think when you look at this picture? Accident?

I am dealing with a very nice buyer who said the ps2 i sent him had a broken plug.
His feedback is very good and seems very genuine. It is costly for him to return it so i said hang onto it and i am starting a claim as plug was bent in transit (which i replaced ).
After he got the new one sent that i paid for he said the ps2 was making a hideous noise which i was expecting as if plug was damaged so must the ps2.
I asked for a photo to send company when i claim and he sent this ;

What are the little indents on the plastic? Looks like something has deliberately helped the plug to break.

This is exactly why buyer feedback is now completely irrelevant?!!
As far as feedback goes, ALL buyers seem good and genuine, which is why it is nothing to be proud of, or nothing to use as an indicator of legitimacy.

  • I would say that was done on purpose. What is the seller asking you to do, if asking for full refund I would say its a dodgy buyer..

I think so, something has gripped on the plastic and not worked then its gripped further down a 2nd time which has broken the join. Problem is whichever way you do this you will probably lose when you have Paypal to deal with.

So first of all the plug was broken, which you replaced and now the PS2 has started to make a noise?

Sounds dodgy to me, however, it is quite a common fault that the motors on the PS2s do fail and when you open and close the disk drawer it makes a chugging sound as it goes in and out.

I don't see how any of that is your fault or responsibility though as that could happen any time.
  • Cant you just send a new lead ? - would you know your machine from another - incase he tries the old "switcheroo" on you ?

can you give the buyers name up for the " buyer to block list" - I dont think I want any dealings with him

There are clearly 4 sets of "teeth" marks on the bent pin of the plug (at the base, half way up, level with the orange section, and some faint ones just a bit higher) which indicates the pin was damaged by gripping it with something (I've looked through my tool box and can't work out what would make those sort of marks!) and bending it, and certainly couldn't have occured through any form of packaging.

Who suggested that the postage cost to return it was too costly? Him or you? If he suggested this, he could be going down the "can I have a partial refund" route.

I'd ask them to send you the damaged plug in the post, saying that RM want to examine it before you can make the claim. If there are teeth marks on the other side, then it will clearly show that they must've damaged it!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
