Should Rebecca come clean about David's baguette?

Here's this week's hypothetical situation for you to cogitate on:
Every day, personal assistant Rebecca dutifully picks up lunch for her boss, David. He gives her £25 a week to get his usual bacon baguette and bottle of coke, every day. Yet MoneySaver Rebecca realises the meal’s covered by the Independent’s free Upper Crust lunch offer, and she can get it for just a quid. She’s temped to keep the extra few pounds, as David didn’t do any of the research and probably wouldn’t notice the difference. Should she keep the cash or come clean?

Give the money back-doesn't matter how much he earns it's still stealing.Nuts oh Hazelnuts:rotfl:0

It depends what kind of boss he is.
If he's a decent boss, I would get it for £1 and give him the £5 change.
If he was a rat, then I'd just pay full price and snigger to myself and think that if he got off his own backside to get his own lunch, he could save himself £25 a week(assuming it's a 5 day working week)
I wouldn't buy it for £1 and pocket the fiver, because I'd always give a receipt back for what I'd bought for someone.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Depends whether you're a thief or not0

Spend the spare fiver on cream cakes for the girls in the office and tell them the boss has treated themI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

She should let her boss know about this offer. He may save himself a fiver or decide he's not really bothered in which case if she then uses it herself and saves a fiver then good on her. Killing two birds with one stone.0

Good boss?? Give him the change after using the voucher.
Horrid boss?? Not even use the voucher on him and pay full whack.
But there is no way I would take his money (or anyone elses). Its not my money.0 -
I reckon I'd get the offer and give the boss his change, rightly so.
Good boss or bad boss, it's great feeling smug when saving money. And always looking for an opportunity to brown-nose!Nuts just take up space where chocolate ought to be.0 -
Yes, she should tell him: it is not worth losing your job for £4!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0

Honesty is always the best policy. She should tell him about the offer- he might be generous with the saving, but if he's not, at least her conscience is clear. :AThe cow is of the bovine ilk,
