got the samsung tocca on 35 reduced to 30 a month and 15 for the first 3 mnths with 600 mins and unlimited text a few weeks ago on 14 days trial and it didnt compare to my n95 8gb so sent it back. been with voda for about 7 yrs on my current no. and 3 yrs on my prev no and got !!!!ed off so sent in a letter to cancel my contract as my 18 mnths were up and asked them to confirm receipt of the letter and my date of cancellation and yesterday got a call from "vodafone direct" who offered me the same 600 mins and unlimited text for 12.49, all in, per month if i kept my existing phone and its on a 12 month contract.
nice deal or what?0 -
Just had (well 2 days ago) Voda call me up after I had asked for PAC code and I got the n96 on a 12 month contract for £30 a month 300m/250t, I thought that was pretty good. not masses of minutes but it suits me well, upgraded from N95 8GB, not sure it's much of a step up though !0

wow. are you sure?
If that was me, I would not open the n96, i would just sell it on ebay for 500 quid, and keep my existing n958gb (coz they are the same phone really).
at £30/month - thats only £360 for the contract. Yet the phone costs £500 if u sell it!0 -

( it's gone up to £35 a month now) but it does include Web n Walk0 -
I rang up to cancel and requested my pac code. They offered 225 mins 250 texts, 18 month contract @ £12.50/month (no new phone).
This seems like an awful deal. Im guessing when they ring me, they will offer a better deal?
Also - how many days after requesting your pac code is it that they call you? does anyone know?0 -
3 days after they phone me n got off c902 with 12 months contract 350 mins 250 texts @ £12,5/month. Give the phone to my wife n save over £20/ months.
SUN PREPAID| Limit £O - balance £800CR
JD WILLIAMS | Limit £320---£800 - balance £10
Next | Limit £3500 - balance £ 0
Savings - £33500 -

I requested my PAC code on Thursday and got the call on Friday. At that point you have to be prepared to tell them a competitors offer you want them to match.
vodafone is generally the most expensive operator, so i dont think they can match other operators. For example, the standard o2 retentions offer if you want to keep your existing phone is:
200 minutes, 400 texts, £25/month, with £15 discount per month = £10/month. Because you do not want a new phone, they then also give you £180 credit. This means, the complete tarrif is TOTALLY FREE over the 18 month period. Also, with o2, MMS messages are included in your free text allowance, unlike vodafone!
I mentioned this deal to the vodafone customer services rep - and he said he actually has the same retention deal on o2 too, even though he works for vodafone! lol
When voda retentions rings me in the next day or two i doubt they will come anywhere close to matching o20 -

Never had a problem with voda matching deals, the 1st sales guy will allways laugh at me when I tell him what I want, so end up asking for my PAC code, the retentions Guy is always sooo much more helpful.0 -
well i'll give it a go. Id be happy with with 200 minutes, 200 texts. £5/month
is that reasonable to expect from voda retentions?
I just cant justify paying more than £10/month for getting locked into a yearly contract just to have a phone line, when PAYG will do the same but with no contract.0
