I wonder how long it will be before they do not permit contingency bookings and just cancel them without notice and don't refund payments already made.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Well they'll need to change their terms and conditions to do that won't they? otherwise I for one will simply use the Consumer Credit Act 1974 to get my card company to put it right ...
... which reminds me ... I still need to send off another dispute form to the credit card company with a list of all the Dynamic Currency Conversions that Ryanair have processed without my permission in the past 12 months or so to get refunds processed ...0 -
im sure most of the knockers of ryanair are new users who get confused with the T&C and get caught out,0

I thought this was hilarious...........

So, is there something built into the website which refuses to let potential customers log off when they realise there are extra charges then?If people object that much then my suggestion would be to press the cancel button and book with another airline???
The extra charges are VERY clear once you start the booking process and BEFORE you are committed to buying the tickets!
We travelled to Salzburg in August and found Ryanair very good value for money - no problems at all and I was well aware of what I was getting for my money. Can't fault them at all tbh.0 -

I would welcome this.
Or a reverse charge for no shows or something.
Because they are "FREE" they are taken for granted and the "priviledge" abused. Theres no value placed on them so often with no shows, the aircraft could fly with 20 empty seats - such a waste.
It could (conspiracy theory coming;)) be an experiment in percentages b4 they start overbooking flights or it could just be great advertising. If there's 10 seats at 1p inc tax its really only a £200 hit for Ryanair. Much of that they will get in additional revenue via advertising, car hire, hotels , BAGGAGE:D Premium phonelines:D (2 minutes at 10p and OP is irrate ?)

One other 'good'(?) thing...if on the day you fly your punctuality doesn't quite match theirs, you miss the check-in or gate before closing, and you don't have another 1p contingency booking for the next flight, then when you arrive panic-stricken back at the Ryanair Information Desk you can still pretty much rely on the charge for that seat on the next one...
yep you guessed it...that magic fifty quid again does the trick
Edit: ynot, do you happen to know if those £10 all-in flights include credit card charges? The 1p ones did of course... loved seeing those on my credit card statement ... the price of the ink and paper must've been more than that!
Can someone confirm for me.
The 1p is not the total costs. On the 1p flight what is the total minimum costs after including taxes, surcharges, airport security charges, fuel surcharges etc etc. I bet more than 1p comes off your credit card ?
Contingency booking seems a good idea, thanks for that but again wont you have to pay all the taxes again, so you are paying twice. Or not ?
Do you get any taxes, surcharges back if you dont travel. How much refunded?

Their admin fees cancel out the potential tax refund. The charges bit is non refundable of the "tax and charges"
See above for my views on contingency bookings0 -
People are their own worse enemy!
YOU CANNOT BOOK A FLIGHT WITH RYANAIR without agreeing that you`ve READ their terms and conditions.
It`s absolutely impossible to buy a ticket, they will NOT let you.
Even when you click the "buy" button, they still will not let you go ahead until you click the final pop-up warning box to say that you`re sure you want to buy it.
I fail to see how any company in the world can be fairer than that.
The truth of the matter is,people can`t be bothered to read the T&C`s and then start yelling when THEIR mistakes back-fire on them.0
