So I take it you've found some 0.5% ones?Stompa0 -

When I wrote:Kazza wrote:they have rounded the purchases down to the nearest pound and paid 3% cashback on it all.
I was referring to the cashback they had paid me, according to my statement. Of your purchases, from major the outlets, may I ask (if you don't mind) which of them have attracted 0.5% cashback? Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
Its a shame they dont have some sort of indicator to show which ones get the full 3% or not on the statements. Trying to work it out from the statement is a bit of a headache.0

Hi all,
Got our first statement yesterday and all purchases attracted 3%.
Most were Esso, Tesco etc, but we took a gamble on buying a DS Lite from Boots and that too attracted 3%!
So Martins original comment about buying a sandwich in boots won't get 3% is wrong

Oh, just noticed earlier posts. Looks like all purchases have attracted 3% Not such a good discovery then0 -

No I may have phrased it badly, everything has got a nominal 3% so far including caffe uno.
I'm guess everything getting 3% at the moment. So there is not really a list of places that attract 3%.0 -
Don't tell Mr GE but he has credited me with around £120 for using his card to pay for my £4k holiday!
Having said that, I won't be surprised if this overly generous cashback calculation is spotted and rectified before the first biannual payout is due around November.0 -
Lisyloo,
Where does it state that you have to pay it back?
I am not a lawyer but I believe the legal posistion is this.
If a bank (or any other organisation) mistakenly credits you money then they are entitled to get it back.
Your only defence would be if you had made a decision based on that money for example you buy a new car because of the higher bank balance without realising the mistake.
I think this defence is unlikely to be plausible in this case because the amounts of cashback we are referring to are relatively small and wouldn't enable you to make a significant financial decision anyway.
As I said I'm not a lawyer and I can't at this moment point you to the relevant legal documentation but that's my understanding of the legal position in this country.
I don't want to spoil everyone's fun and they might decide not to ask for money back, but it's certainly a possibility that shouldn't be ruled out.0 -
Here is a link to a newsletter by the Financial Ombudsman service

Whilst it isn't a definitve statement of law, I think it confirms my understanding from a reputable source.
(I'm sure there is some proper legislation somewhere, but I'm afraid I can't spend anymore time looking for it).0 -

Was just feeling really pleased after receiving my statement and finding GE had given me 3% on £395 garage bills until I read your biggie! Lets just hope we are all still smiling later in the year.0
