Did you know that you can pay for petrol at Tescos with free downloadable couponsbeerchug.gif,
as long as it is a TESCO's garage and not a Tesco express attached to an "oil company" garage.
If you buy a paper...or whatever.... your total all goes through the grocery till.
    Coupons count as cash.
They don't care...they get their cash and extra handling fee and save the 2.5 % commission fee on your credit card.
You may have to change pumps to split your bill tho!!!!!:p
Now........how do we reduce the road tax?:rotfl:

I asked about this about a month ago at my local branch and was told I certainly could not use internet coupons for money off my petrol bill. If anyone has official proof that coupons can be used against petrol costs could you please post it on this thread? I cannot download the links on my computer that have been posted on this thread regarding the memo sent to Tesco staff. Again if someone could kindly post the memo in full on this thread or pm me with its contents, I would be most appreciative. Many thanks.

PS Anyone tried to use coupons for money off postage stamps at Tesco?

I was turned away at another Tesco today. I only had £2 worth of coupons and £25 worth of shopping. I always spend about this much every time i walk in Tescos.

Anyway, the supervisor over-ruled the cashier as a ONE OFF, and said i would be refused next time i used coupons off the net.

I have checked my credit cards, and i spend about £4000 a year at Tesco, and i aslo take relatives with me who don't have a car. I have only used about £35 of coupons during the last 6 months.

As the Tesco manager on the coupon only thread said, it is in the stores interest to go easy on coupon users. I no-longer split my shopping between the big 3 supermarkets, and stick with Tesco. Many more embarrassing incidents, and i may go back to shopping around.

Does this mean ONE coupon per shop?
  • Hey,

I've tried that a few times :rotfl:

It's never worked though, so I just wondered if anyone had any copies of the Coupon Policy for petrol :j

    ;)

    Cheers

No, this means that you can use coupons for products that Tesco stock, and then one coupon for a product they don't stock (as a goodwill gesture).

Further on down, it states 'Customers can pay for all their shopping using different branded coupons'.

Which is good. I just wish stores would listen, when it's normally head office spouting out all this info.

You CANNOT use mocs for items not stocked by Tesco - it shouldn't scan and even if it does, shouldn't be used.

You can use mocs against items that are stocked by Tesco, then if you are buying an item that you have a coupon for, you can use that in addition.

ie You have 2 mocs for Heinz baked beans and you buy one tin. You can use 1 moc as part of your allowance, then another against your actual purchase.

Fully agree, mocs for a product Tesco don't stock shouldn't scan anyway so it's not a big problem.

The worst problem is people thinking they can use any coupon which scans. Out of date MOCs scan, as do Sainsburys magazine specific ones - but neither of them are acceptable to use as Tesco (or Waitrose or Asda) cannot reclaim the money.

Many thanks for the link, wubbzy!

  • morning all, just been to asda spent £7 handed in staff discount card 10% off leaving £6.30 gave in the mitchum £1.50, the mitchum £1 and the complan £1, sa studies them and says it doesnt say how much this ones worth, just scan it and you will see its for £1.50 which she does, she doesnt scan the other two she manually deducts the total of the three coupons £3.50 which means shes took £5 off and asks me for £1.30, happy days thinks I, The wife who works for asda says take the £1.50 to customer services and tell them what happened as the till will be short and they will check and find its down to coupons and things like this may compromise coupon use, which I did and was thanked for my honesty, cs said thats cheered me up as all we get here is complaints, I was happy too as I saved over 50%

  • I WENT TO OAK TREE TESCO THIS MORNING AND THEY ARE NOW TAKING THE P**S WITH COUPONS  . I WAS TOLD I COULD ONLY USE ONE SET OF COUPONS BECAUSE THE BARCODES HAVE TO BE DIFFERENT  . SURELY THIS IS A LOAD OF B****CKS BECAUSE EVEN THE COUPONS IN THE PAPER ALL HAVE THE SAME BARCODES. THIS TO MEANS THAT IF WE BOUGHT 2 OF THE SAME PRODUCT THE BARCODES MUST BE DIFFERENT OTHERWISE THEY ARE THE ONES COPYING BECAUSE THAT IS BLANTANTLY WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO SAY. ALL THEY ARE DOING NOW IS NIT PICKING, THEY ARE ALSO NOW SAYING THE COUPONS CAN ONLY BE A STANDARD SIZE I MEAN !!!!!! IS THAT ABOUT. I AM GETTING P**SED OFF WITH THEM AND I THINK IT IS ALL BECAUSE OF A BLONDE HAIR PR*CK!!!!! WHO IS PROBVABLY ONLY JUST OLD ENOUGH TO WORK THERE, HAS A PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE USING COUPONS, HE OUGHT TO TAKE HIS HEAD FROM OUT OF HIS A**E AND STOP BEING SUCH A STUCK UP B*****D!!!! SORRY ABOUT THE LONG TEXT BUT IT JUST RILES ME UP!!!
  • I have been reading these forums for approximately 5 months. But today I have felt compelled to register and post this message.

Firstly, thank you very much to all those members who spend their time posting Links and tips regarding coupons. I have become an addicted couponer and have saved so much money. THANK YOU AGAIN :j

    tesco shopper,

The problem you describe this morning lies with the couponnet coupons only. Stores are being bombarded with copies of these, which as i'm sure you know are not legit.

Some stores have got a certain few 'shoppers' who have clearly scanned the couponnet coupons into their PC and are reproducing their coupons time and time again. In some cases the coupons are oversized. This would seem to be the problem that you have incurred this morning.

This 'practise' of reproducing a unique couponnet coupon WILL
end Mr T's very, very generous coupon policy.

When all these duplicated couponnet coupons are returned unpaid from the sorting house, the 'poo will hit the fan'.

We will all lose out because of those attempting to cheating and steal. It's a bit like going shopping with a fake tenner (that you know is fake)

I hope anyone reading this post (who duplicates there coupons) will stop immediately.

It is only a small minority of shoppers, but they will spoil it for everyone!!
