Thanks for this. It appears that the download limit has been reached because I get an error message when trying to download both files on rapidshare. Please, please reload them. Many thanks for all your help.0 -
I think it could be to do with the fact that self scan tills can not distinguish whether it is for Tesco, asda, etc, it just acknowledges the amount, hense someone could put a £50 self scan through, and if the till is not preset to beep at x amount of vouchers, then they could put in £50 of asda vouchers........bang Tesco loses out.
...Which of course IS fraud.
But surely using a few nss coupons, as specified in their policy, isn't fraud, be it on self service or staffed tills.0 -

Martin was misunderstood I think, he didn't say just putting MOCs in the self-scan 'was fraud'. However, as well as an article in some papers, he also gave a warning in the email before last not to try mocs like this in the self scan. Here's the link to the article:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/tipnote/supermarket-coupons
Scroll down to 'Warning! Don't sneak it through self-scanning machines' and you will see that Martin is just warning people to be upfront about their MOCs and go to a manned till.
I agree with him completely, and only ever use self-scan if I only want to put 2 different manufacturers' coupons in for a loaf of bread (up to 3 mocs are OK in my local at the self-scan). But although on their manned tills they are relaxed about the one of each MOC policy, that same Tesco does not allow internet printed mocs.
The thing is, on the self-scan the temptation could be there for some people to put a few (internet-printed or even worse, out of date or unredeemable mocs) in anyway - and MSE would not wish to encourage anyone to do that.
At the very least, an unhappy store could tape up the coupon slots on the ss but the worst scenario has also happened this year, with some stores clamping right down on a previously relaxed coupon policy.
So I would advise couponers, please don't put MOCs in the self scan unless you are only using one or two and they are completely legit ones at that. Even if the SA overlooking the ss tends to authorise them anyway, it's still the worst place to be sneaking through with MOCS as if you have something to hide - you don't!
I would be really upfront & go to a till, any hassle then ask for a Supervisor and politely but confidently mention that you 'know the corporate coupon policy is one of each'. I did that in 4 local stores, it took time and some embarrassing episodes but they do now know the policy in my locals, even if one store has decided no internet prints (which is at store discretion anyway).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I wish Tesco would have one general coupon policy.
I have been to two Tesco stores today, both had different policies.
In the first one I bought some Mitchum deodorant along with some other shopping.
I gave them one of the half price green Mitchum coupons and one of the white £1 Mitchum coupons.
The lad said he could accept the white £1 one but he wasn't sure about the green ones.
A supervisor (if you can call him that, just a lad that was a bit further up the ladder I think, don't think he was a proper supervisor - I go in there every day so I know most of the staff on a weekday).
He said they could not take any internet coupons unless they had coupon star written around the border as they can't get their money back on the other ones!
I just said I didn't want the deodorant then and the lad on the till was very apologetic and took them off the bill.
I went to another Tesco further up the road to see what the score was there.
I bought two Mitchums (I needed two anyway) and some more shopping and gave 4 coupons, 2 x green half price, 2 x £1 ones (both Mitchum again).
Again a supervisor was called as the woman on the till wasn't sure.
I said I had been told you could use one coupon if it is for an item you have actually bought along with another coupon.
They said I could not use 4 coupons only two, even though I had bought the items. She had put 3 coupons through but she didn't tell her supervisor and she gave me one back so I just accepted it, said it wasn't what I had been told and left.
:rolleyes:0 -
Just been to my wonderful Wigan branch again. £41 of shopping reduced to £26 with various MOCs, no dramas. The cashier even commented that I must have been saving these coupons up for a while:rolleyes: didn't like to tell them that I just print them off weekly!!:A0
