The payments he 'can't' afford are already over 52 weeks.
But this way if he doesn't pay them he doesn't get any gas or electric, they would only usually spread the payments longer if they see proof of low income.
  • I didnt ask for your pity, did I?

All energy companies should be not for profit organisations anyway, they make billions per year just for the common man to keep his family warm and bathed. I have little respect for such companies, and why should I?

I dont intend to let it get that far to be honest, im just sounding off. £300 per quarter or £1200 per year should be enough to cover the usage and slowly bring down the debt. Why cant they just accept that?

£1200 a year is an average yearly bill. You would need to pay the debt off on top of this figure.

I struggle with my quarterly bills but I keep track of my readings and usage otherwise I too would be in a difficult position.

I understand you will struggle to pay this monthly figure but you need to keep calm and keep the lines of communication open between you and e-on. Together you can work some thing out I'm sure.

No but you came asking for advice, I've given you advice take it or not. But your going to have to pay your bills at some point.
  • well i have shut off all electrical equipment not in use, PC (processor, monitor, printer), Xbox, Wii, video, Hifi, and all the leccy stuff in my lads room. This will help reduce the usage, not sure by how much though.

Being a not-for-profit would reduce your repayments to £184.
  • That was not aimed at you, Vestra, sorry if you thought it was.

Because they ensure that your family are efficiently warm and bathed.

At some stage you're going to have to accept that you need to pay your way.

Just like the rest of us!

With a family, you have a responsibilty to take care of things rather than stick your head in the sand.

If you are having problems budgeting (which you obviously are!) then post up your SOA and we'll help do it for you.

Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."
  • Oh I know I need to pay, just cant afford £200 per month.

Many wouldn't be able to pay this. You have to keep talking to them and if the first person is negative speak to some one higher and hopefully more compassionate and understanding.

Also phone their automated system and give them regular meter readings. Especially when the change their prices!
